As long as the starters get reps in the 3rd game, I'm fine with them sitting this one.

If the NFL wants to have a better product, they need to cancel the ability to do joint practices... and maybe should. The preseason use to be fun. Then joint practices basically became controlled preseason games you can't watch.

I STRONGLY, STRONGLY disagree.

TC, joint practices and preseason games have the goal of allowing the team to get ready for the season. The point of preseason games is NOT for the fans to have fun.

Joint practices are much, much, much better at achieving the goal of making decisions and getting ready for the season. The starters played a lot this week. There is zero reason for them to play in a preseason game.

If they got rid of joint practices, the product would be much worse, and starters would be playing in a preseason environment that is downright dangerous to their careers. At best, to get the same result, we would need to have 4 or 5 preseason games.

I don't know if the OL practice out of both stances but does this suggest Lomu at LT tonight? Or am I reading too much into it?

My read has been that they have been prepping him primarily as the backup LT with Marcus Bryant as the top backup RT. They need to play two tackles after all. But in the regular season I would guess Lomu is the first man up in reserve at either side.

I just hope it doesn't slow his development at RT if that's where he's projected to start next year.
