Thank god it's preseason. Of course last year, I was screaming at the TV game 1 at Miami. What the hell was Jones doing playing inside. He was getting owned.
It's important to remember as we watch this that ultimately we are watching practice reps. I like seeing them put McCourty at corner. It's good reps for him and good reps for the other safeties. It's important this season that they are multiple both up front and in back defensively. These are necessary growing pains during consequence free competition.
Also, Collins actually looks pretty good. He's executing his assignment and doing his job pretty well. He got picked pretty bad on that wheel and ultimately just needs his help to get there. With High and Mayo in there with him the defense would look dramatically different. I'm nervous if 55 sees the field during the regular season.
