Predict the next 7 games

Not open for further replies.
We have a predict the season contest which is stickied.

Now that we know more about our team and the teams we will be playing the rest of the season, let's do a bye week prediction for the next 7 games.

Here's the remaining schedule. Next to the game place a W by the game you think the Patriots will win and an L by the games you think the Patriots will not win

Nov. 18 at Carolina Panthers, 8:40 p.m.W
Nov. 24 Denver Broncos, 8:30 p.m L I so want this to be a W
Dec. 1 at Houston Texans, 4:25 p.m W
Dec. 8 Cleveland Browns, 1 p.m L.
Dec. 15 at Miami Dolphins, 1 p.m W
Dec. 22 at Baltimore Ravens, 8:30 p.m W.
Dec. 29 Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m. W

This will give the Patriots a 12-4 record and probably a 2nd seed in the playoffs.
@ Carolina 50/50 given the performance of their D.
H Denver - 50/50 but I'm tipping Manning to throw some tight spirals to Patriots defenders for a pick 6 or two.
@ Houston - blow out Patriots victory. W
H Browns - Browns D is legitimate. Browns O isn't anything special. W
@ Miami - W
@Baltimore - they're done this year. W
H Buffalo. Yeah... W

Worst case scenario I see 4-3. Conservatively I'd hope the team can go 5-2. If all goes well, 7-0 isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Carolina - L, They will be coming off a loss to SF and its MNF and will be geared up+ very good defense.
Denver -L , Pats offense will be in it for a while but too many defensive starters missing for us..
Houston -W- Will be a tough game unlike what most people expect but cant see pats losing 3 in a row
Cleveland -W
Dolphins -W
Baltimore -W
Bills -W

I am stunned and disappointed that I have not seen the requisite self-righteous post from a fan who believes he is on the team, and his focus on the here and now is needed for the team to succeed.

***Holy run-on sentence!!***

So, I will oblige....

Predict the next 7 games? How about we focus on the next game and beating Carolina. The Panthers will be tough enough without worrying about the remainder of the season. Good grief. Enough of the jinxing, people!

Carry on.

And all by 59-0, right?

Hold those thoughts, man!

I think that 5-2 is a realistic goal to end up at 12-4, which hopefully will be enough to get us that all important #2 seed.

I think we lose to DEN and also one other team. There are many tough defenses coming up. 5-2 would be impressive in my opinion.

Not necessarily aimed at you, Supa, but the point has to be made.

Most everyone here is predicting a loss to Denver on the 24th (I am not in that camp). At this juncture, the Broncos have 1 loss. If we don't hand them another one, it's unlikely they will lose 3 overall.

KC, at 9-0, is still riding high. They could lose a game or two along the way, but that's at most.

We have 2 losses. If we lose to Denver, as so many Nervous Nellies predict, that gives us 3.

Without a loss to us, Denver loses 2 at most. Barring a complete collapse of the Chiefs (mathematical probability approaching 0), they lose 2 at most.

In both instances I emphasize two.

Denver and KC split their 2 games. Unless we beat the Broncos, Denver finishes with 2 losses, and KC 1 (maybe 2, but really, who knows?).

That leaves us with 3, at the very least.

There's no way in hell we get a first round bye without beating Denver.

Beat Denver, or become a long shot to win the Super Bowl.

It's as simple as that.

Actually it's not due to both KC and Denver being in the AFC west. The way playoff seedlings work is the winner of the division (likely to have the best record in football) will get the #1 seed. After that the 2,3,and 4 seeds go to the other division winners in order of record. Then the rest of the best records fill in the5 and 6 seed. Thus the pats currently have the 2 seed despite Denver's better record. It does not actually matter who wins the west because the other team will get the5th seed. The real competition for the 2 is Cinci and Indy both of whom have 3 losses though Cinci has the tiebreaker over the pats if they end up with identical records due to head to head. That Cinci loss hurts way worse then a Denver loss will.

I think they lose one and finish 13-3, #2 seed behind KC.

I can't pick which game though...I don't think it will be Denver, just one of those random "any given sunday" kind of losses where the ball bounces the wrong way in a tight game. Miami is a good random guess based on history but they're kind of a mess, so maybe Houston or Baltimore.

I'm sure there will be much hand-wringing and negativity because of it (****, that happens even when they WIN) but this is a tough team that is just hitting its stride offensively right when it needs to compensate for some defensive personnel losses. I'm prepared to be impressed. Call me optimistic or crazy if you want.

SNF vs denver , after a short post MNF @ Carolina.....not going to be easy.

Denver has KC, @NE, @KC. That's a stretch where I can see them losing two of the three.

I'd bet the short week prep for Denver is more than compensated for by
the prep and rest during the bye.
In other words 1 less day in this case won't be the difference because of the
bye week.

Yeah those are always the worst. "1 game at a time fellaz as coach always sez". I'm glad those people have been getting made fun of enough so that we're seeing less and less of that as the years go on.

12-4 Record and the 2-Seed looking at a trip to Denver for the AFCCG

the ones who should be made "fun of" are posters who think they
are players or think what they say will make a difference to the
outcome of games played by the players.

no right or wrong way for fans ... players are different. IMO

No need to rag on posters here. To each his own.
Some don't like to look further than the end of their nose
others
like to imagine , seeing what the present is and seeing the potential
obstacles in the future make a guess at what might happen.

Knowing the title of the thread you shouldn't have been surprised at the
content and probably should have not read it or used the thread tool to ignore it if it disturbs you.

Maybe I just misunderstood the end of the post, but why would I ignore a thread I've clearly been more than happy to participate in?

Sorry Kontra, my bad. didn't interpret your post the right way.

I see a clear 5-2 in the next 7 games and a 12-4 record which would likely earn the third seed behind Denver and Cincy.

IMO We will see the team lose to Houston at their house as backup QBs have been known to be deadly to this team not to mention their two good backs in Tate and Foster who could run all day inside the line and Keenum appears to be decent.

I see at Baltimore as another loss as they seem to have our number lately and may be playing for their playoff lives come that game.

5-2 and a 12-4 record and 3rd seed seem to put them in a pretty good position to me,I don't fear playing at Denver or Cincy should the team win its wild card game .

some folks don't like to be bothered by intelligent posts that disagree with their views. :singing:

I don't see the Bengals going 13-3 or 12-4, not without Atkins.

They go to the Ravens next which will be tough, then host Browns who are their main division rivals atm another tough game, then @ Chargers which again will be hard. They have the Colts next which I think they'll lose, then they visit Pittsburgh which is never easy, they'll beat the Vikes in Week 16 and then host Ravens in Week 17. I see them losing at least 2 of those games which would put them 11-5 and below the 12-4 Pats

I know Atkins is a beast but if the Bengals fail to win consistently now because of ONE player gone then they aren't that good to begin with...I think they win 12 games...13 is a stretch.

Dalton is playing some of the best QB play in the NFL the past month, unless he suddenly hits a wall, they'll be tough.
