Predict: Surprise Trades before the start of the season.

I would never trade a CB, in the nfl, you can never have enough good corners.

After watching how well stork performed last week, I think he will beat out Andrews, but because stork gets hurt so much, we may not be able to trade Andrews.

Really hoping we can pickup a good ot at the cut down date because cannon, waddle and fleming Are jags.
There aren't even 64 good OTs in the NFL. Which team would have one available, and why wouldn't a more needy team offer more?

when I think surprise trade names like Ryan Dobson even Amendola make too much sense to be a surprise. True surprise trades are guys like Seymore, Mankins, or Lawyer. So in that vien let's say Bellicheck KNOWS Collins is looking to break the bank and play somewhere warmer so will not resign for less then 7 years 120 million with 75 gaurenteed. What would you do? I would put feelers out and get at least a first rounder. Would it suck? **** yeah but it's better then getting a 3rd two years from now. It is my opinion that BB loves LB's and TE's too much to trade any of his 4 really good ones on the roster so where else do the pats have elite talent another team would pay big to get? What would a team give up for Butler? Those other surprise trades tend to be malcontents which makes this game a little harder because all the guys I have suggested, or would SHOCK me like say Eldeman, are true team players that seem to love the environment. The last name that came to mind once I started pondering is the only surprise level player I could see happening for the right price. Solder being traded to a desperate team for a 2nd and a big depth caliber RB would make long term sense on a certain level. It would free up cap space if you are not in love with Solder as your LT of the future. Course it would kill your chances this year and so I would ***** and moan to high heaven if it happened.

Can't see it. I'd rather have Collins for a year - this year, with Brady going for another and Bennett in the O - than a 1st rounder.

They'll sign either Hightower or Collins and franchise the other. They've got a ton of cap space next year.

With such a deep and talented and young team.. there has to be some though to trading some these players.

Give me your top 3 potential tradeable players.

1. Logan Ryan - SOOO much depth and talent at CB

2. Duron Harmon

3. Bryan Stork - Dave Andrews

Honorable Mention - Aaron Dobson / Clay Harbor /
Where is this "sooo much depth" at CB? I remember last season having Tavon Wilson playing slot CB because we had so little depth, now we add 1 CB in the second round and sign a few UDFAs and we are trading our #2 CB?

I'm a little concerned that in a league that is 90% being able to stop the passing game your top 2 trades are key players in our secondary.

Not many teams run a zone blocking scheme like ours. Bb seems to find guys on the scrap heap and make them legitimate players all the time.

Jamaal Charles is my pick for a surprise trade. Not saying that he will be traded to the Patriots.

Interesting suggestion.

One reason I don't see Harmon being traded is that he's likely to bring a decent comp pick if he signs somewhere else. Another reason is that it's easy to imagine CB talent (past Butler) being a problem again, with McCourty selectively lining up as a quasi-CB in another "Big Nickel". So Harmon is depth at every DB position except Butler's and Chung's.

We don't really have a Harmon replacement in place, especially now Vereen has left. I don't think Richards can play that single high safety role. That means there's no McCourty backup in place if we traded Harmon. And I agree with you about the comp pick. I can see him netting us a 4th.

I've mentioned this before about comp picks. I think we may not really get one for Harmon. We have so many upcoming FA's and there's no way we'll pay everyone but hopefully work something out with some of our valuable players. I hope we get Hightower signed and then franchise Collins. In this scenario we are likely to get a comp pick for Harmon.
As for Harmon getting traded, at least we have a back-up for him (though Richards has yet to prove well in coverage) but he played a lot last year in the 3 safety defense so I don't see that happening now, even though I previously listed him as a surprise trade.
So I'll just say Logan Ryan. CyJones and JoJones have been playing well and for some reason it looks like the staff likes Coleman or they're just playing him to see if he can beat out the Joneses for the nickel role. Not sure about Roberts yet or how he's playing.
Also, no way we trade Collins. There's just no depth/experience at LB and trading him would be one of the worst moves BB could make this year.
