Although I'm pretty resigned to the pick being LT Will Campbell, LSU. Which means next year's 1st round pick will also be a LT.

Something my wife reminds me of almost every time I happen upon her holding a team meeting with herselves. Although usually I try to back away unnoticed, some of those meetings can get pretty heated and I fear getting caught in the crossfire

Anyway, if BB was running the draft, the pick might be Malakai Starks and Jabrill Peppers would be cut the next days. But after looking at the Combine 40 times, I have to wonder if Nick Emmanwori would be the pick. But in case, BB would make a pick that would be sure to explode everyone's head. I would be OK with this pick if Scar was still on board since I know that the Patriots could get a good LT with their second pick.

I think it’s a trade down and a trade up scenario.
Predict a trade down for Tet, and a trade up for Simmons.

At one point this was my favorite scenario.

I'm still game for Tet but I've gotten scared about Simmons knee and I'm not sure we can take that gamble.

We need LT and I'm all for the trade up from 2nd to do it coming away with Warren or Tet and a LT would be awesome but I can't take that gamble so I just settled on Campbell. Call me chicken little or whatever but the worst case for us is more Lowe.

No doubt. Starks tape looked better (as good as anyone in this draft, Hunter included), but Emmanwori has amazing speed for his size.

Big time. I love the guys play style, leadership and tenacity.. Vrable said can't win with all good guys on the team..

All signs point to Campbell. Majority of mocks have him coming here. LT is the only position of major need that weve done nothing to address so I also have a suspicion that is going to be a heavy priority.

Personally id go with graham or try my best to trade down and take my chances with that 38 pick to move up into the simmons/connerly/ersery tier if needed but it sounds like they love Campbell. I don’t love it myself but will embrace it and hope for the best.

I'd love another direction but the risk is too real to be held hostage by the LT position the rest of the draft.

They have to come out of the first round with an option they feel can start at LT year 1.

They have to either get their guy at 4 or move down for one of Simmons, Banks, Conerly.

Agreed. Membou is another excellent prospect.. but he's a RT.. and would have to be moved and learn to play LT.. how many of those guys do we already have on the roster.. I'd rather take the know commodity rather than another prospect that has to learn to play the most important position on the OL.. we already have vederian lowe who still hasn't learned to play LT..

A lot of creative/wishful thinking going on but more and more this draft reminds me of the my childhood's run-up to Christmas. Mom would toss us the Sears Wish Book and say "Pick half a dozen things you'd like to get." Dad would see us pouring over it and say "Dream all you like, just know what you're getting is socks and underwear." Which is my long winded way of saying, barring trade, I expect Campbell is what we're getting.

Im fine with that, Its really a matter of preference. Personally, i am as comfortable with ersery becoming a solid LT for us as i am with Campbell, if not more comfortable. Our braintrust may feel differently and i can live with that. As long as its in regards to them projecting Campbell strictly as an LT
