10 wins.

This year’s schedule seemed rough at first too but honestly if we were half decent on offense and more stable st we could’ve sleepwalked to 10 or even 11 wins. It was a real blown opportunity tbh because buffalo and cincy were both very human by the end due to injuries or whatever.

If the offense sputters like it does last year we are in big trouble long term. If it looks more like 2021 i see 10 wins , possible playoff appearance

the schedule is tougher. We play the AFC West and the NFC East. But, I agree that 10 is quite possible.

Now that we have our shutdown corner and our defense can get back to being truly elite, and now that we have a legitimate OC, I don't see a single team out there who can compete with us.

Prediction for the season: Lombardi trophy #7.

That should make all of you happy, because I never miss.

I think they will be improved. I think they were the stupid lateral game away from a playoff berth, no? Wasn't there that and a fumble going in for a TD? I have kind of purged last season from the hard drive, but that puts them at 10 wins and in last year. If that's the only thing they improve, then they are a 10 win team. If.

I think the CBs are better with Gonzalez. I think that makes the entire D better, because that takes 1 read away and slows things down. Obviously not all the time, but overall it makes the D better. I think JuJu > Meyers, Gesicki > Jonnu, and BoB is by far the most important addition to the offense.

Specials should be better with the two new specialists, and the returners should be equal to or better than last year. That means they are improved, on paper, in all three phases. The rest of the division is improved as well, so it'll come down to how the season plays out. I think they will be a lot better when it comes to execution, because BoB takes the offense off Bill's plate.

I don't know how, but 10-11 seems like the very early returns, on paper, from my desk anyway.
Seems like you and I share the same thinking.. I pretty much echoed what you said. Especially on defense... what an elite patriots D always had since ty law was that Coveted man coverage corner..

I'm so happy the team identified that.. and even took that guy with the 1st pick.. it just shows how much a lock down corner can do for a defense. I'll say this.. the gisecki signing is going to be more than what we may have hoped for. He is exactly what we need a TE/Big WR that can stress defenses.. the AFC as a whole is a gauntlet.. but some how, someway feels like 11 wins..

PREACH! I've been scratching my head for months wondering why we weren't upgrading the secondary... the draft answered that for me.. I know Gonzalez still has to learn and adapt to the NFL.. this kid his aura about him ooozes star!!

Can't wait to see him lock up Diggs!

playoffs? im not sure tbh... the stupid loss to oakland hurt us deeply... did we hold the tie breaker advantage with miami last year? cant remember...

i strongly believe we will need 11 wins in order to make the playoffs...

One more addition where we got better - Klemm in and MattyP out as OLine coach... the Oline was a cluster-hump last year... Glad Isaiah "Can't" Wynn is no longer here... believe the dude is still standing on the street corner, shakin' his ass lookin for a new deal...

and good point about special teams, had not considered it...

A nice optimistic analysis, reasonable for this time of year. The primary challenge I see is beating the jets twice.

Billy's little "winning" streak vs the Jete ends with the Very First Game they play against us.

If the second game's late in the season and A-a-ron has already mentally discount double-checked-Out by then - a very real possibility - then there's a chance to avoid being swept.

i dont think so ... he's already saying things like "i'll be at more than 50% of the off season workouts"... Kombucha Boy is exactly who you think he is, and will pressure the jete to hoover up as much of the cap as he can...

Jete gonna Jete, my man. Bet on it.

8-9 again. 9 wins at best, 6 wins at worst.

Conference is too tough, too many elite QBs and too many non-elite QBs who have better weapons than Mac.

Unless the Pats defense is generational, I don't think this team is good enough to be a real factor. They'll just be a more watchable version of last year's team in my opinion. Instead of us winning ugly against bad teams, we'll blow them out.

But games like the Vikings game, both Bills games, the Bengals game, Packers game, etc. Games like those against good teams will repeat themselves again. Mac has had lots of opportunities for game winning drives but only completed one against a tanking Texans team in 2021. When asked to be in a shootout, he starts throwing picks. And he's not being helped by the weapons. We NEED those two 6th round picks to come through.

Yeah yeah I know it's a pessimistic take. But it's not some negative Nancy take that is unfounded. The locker room culture also seems to be degrading.

3 things killed the Jets last season: 1) QB play, 2) Breece Hall injury, and 3) second half schedule.

Their 2023 schedule looks tough but Breece Hall should be fully recovered by September and they upgraded significantly at QB. They were 7-10 last season with a 6-game losing streak at the end. I think they flip their record for 2023 at 10-7.

I think this is one of the toughest years to predict because there are so many unknowns.

We have no idea about the offense. Will it rebound with O'Brien? Will guys like Bourne and Henry rebound to their 2021 form which was pretty good? Will Jones progress from his rookie year or was he broken last year. Is Thornton the guy we saw in the preseason before he got injured and looked to be mismanaged during the season? Will Schuster look like the guy he was early on in the season last year (which was really, really good) or the guy who limped on down the end of the season and into the playoffs? Will Trent Brown actually try this year?

And the defense we gotta ask can they be as dominant against good teams as they were against bad and average teams? The defense still seems like a front runner defense. We need to know if they can stand up to the better QBs or not. And/or can they stop these down the stretch at the end of the season collapses.?

21-0.

Yup, that's right. They're going to go 17-0, but so will the Texans who will win the bye on a coin flip tiebreaker, so the patriots will have to win four playoff games. Which they will.

Where's that option?

(but really I voted for Improved)
22-0. Roger Goodell and his cronies are so p+ssed that Aaron Rodgers and the Jets got knocked out of the playoffs by the Patriots, they accuse Bill Belichick of over-inflating his ego and demand a do-over of the Super Bowl. Goodell bans Belichick from the replay of the game which, of course, the Patriots win setting a record that can only be broken if the owners once again extend the regular season.

20-0, baby!

Let's goooooooooooooo!!!!

I feel everyone on offense projects to be better in thier roles.. from the get go last off-season the regular season was pretty much tainted with the coaching decisions.. guys never bought in, frustrating practices wich lead into camp and ultimately the season itself.

Juju is another season removed from injury as he wasn't 100% last season and still put up good numbers. Trent Brown is a wild card. I get the feeling that a guy like Bourne due to his contract would likely be a trade possibility.. I hope not, but it just feels that way to me.

I agree with you, can the defense challenge allen.. can they stiffle high powered offenses.. I'll say yes they will have the ability to do so.. what was sorely missing last season was exactly what the team identified in Gonzalez.

Lots of questions also reason for optimism.

9-8 and the 7th seed.

this is a touch schedule for a good team yet let alone a team with so many question marks , but if the offense is better and the defense is the same and the special teams improves... 11-6 optmistic... realistic 8-9
