Potential FA Values

That's not how it works.

He will land somewhere between 12.5m and 12m. I think the big question mark with him and his injury-ridden past is the amount of guaranteed vs. incentives and not the contract total. If there is a bidding war between multiple FA teams he might hit over 13 ?
He will be over 13.
This bit about injury prone has been way overblown on this board.

I hope all these players get paid these amount

By other teams.

Hard to get any hopes up, I would be surprised if they sign 2 or 3 from the top 101

As it sits now the defense needs from players.

The Pats' top FA list is quite different, I'm sure. There's no reason other than masochism to tie your hopes for how the Pats build the 2017 roster to anything that comes out in the popular press.

Guilty! Never a dull moment, enjoy sports fans.

No it has not been overblown apart maybe for the crazy segment of people here that call every incompletion a drop and freak out about everything.

Even Mayo acknowledges it on the Ex-Pats podcast and said that Hightower will need to accept some incentives in his contract. Hell, the majority of this board doesn't even know that HT had a torn ACL at Alabama.

But that's life as an inside linebacker. I don't think he will reach 13m except if there is a real bidding war between two teams (both not Patriots) over him.

We will see.

As far as the injuries of course it's overblown. He is a linebacker who has missed a couple of games here and there because of non-chronic injuries. As you say that's life for a LB although you characterize him as an ILB which really isn't accuarate.

that pryor number is laugh out loud money.

I like the dude, i like his drive and his willingness to change positions. but 10-12 mil a year.

Naaaaaaaaaah

The thing people miss about Hightower is that he calls the defense. There is a premium to pay here for QBs of the defense. Teams will overpay for players that glue the team together.

You can lose a Collins--but if you lose a Hightower, you better replace him with someone very good. Sure, you can stick Van Noy or McLellin in when Collins leaves, but I have news for you: Van Noy and McLellin are not going to fill Hightower's shoes. And before you mention Elandon Roberts, he is light back there, and very well will not last. Reminds me a little bit of Ed Reynolds.

I'm aware of their strategy. It's worked well but these deals were signed in a different market. Edelman gets close to 10 million in the current market.

BB also paid Floyd 1+ million dollars for about a month's work. That somewhat contradicts the depth chart structure model.

It was 1+ million for one tough-as-nails touchdown and one monster block. Kinda pricey but great television viewing.

At different points during the season Van Noy, McClellin, and Roberts had the green dot despite Hightower playing..

I think -- and correct me if I am wrong -- this was usually around those series where Hightower was scheduled to have a couple snaps off.

Good idea.. give your key player a few breathers, give other players experience in case of emergencies.. thinking ahead..

It'll be the annual gold rush for a couple of days, followed by little discussed pick ups for NE that end up making a difference.

I'd love to see HT return, but I wouldn't put any $ on that bet yet.

I do not believe that is correct.

If teams want to fight over Mike Glennon and tie their future to a QB with a 5-13 career record and sub-60% completion rate, then they deserve to continue to wallow in mediocrity. He may deserve a chance at competing for a starting job, but it would be foolish to commit such a high percentage of your cap space (14-15 million per year) to Glennon.

Disagree entirely. As in all cases the only thing that matters is the guarantee. After Romo he is the #1 target qb, all he costs is money- no picks.
