Post Game Thread Ravens @ Pats

Suggs' assignment tonight was to sit on the bench and look disgusted at every minor misstep by the offense. He totally nailed it. Oscar worthy performance.
Is it mean of me to say that Suggs looks like a guy who has suffered major head trauma?

Really easy. Ravens are terrible (as most of 0.500 teams are), if not the Cyrus mental mistake + the ref blowing 2 plays ( McCourty return - it's impossible to have 100% certainty + flower strip sack) this would be at least 25 points game

I thought that was the best game of the year so far. Minus those 2 blunders, it was an incredible effort against the #1 defense.

McClellin's great block on the FG attempt, Ghost, and the coverage were the lone bright spots on the ST units tonight.

So 80% of the ST where the lone bright spots of the game because the other 20% ****ed it up ?

Allen was amazing and deserves ST player of the week consideration. Him pinning the Ravens repeatedly inside their own 5 yard line where game changers. Ghost was perfect as was the coverage for most of the day. I'd turn it around and say that ST played great in this game with the lone dark spot being the two return issues.

He needs to be sentenced by Judge Joe for at least the rest of the season. How can you look at him wandering right into the ball on the PR and think that's coachable? I could coach a 5 year old to run the other way when a punt is bouncing around.

It is. Repetition. Situational play. It works. Really.

Does anyone know why Pats haven't clinched a playoff berth yet at 11-2?

They lose the division if Pats lose/Miami wins out.

The only scenario I can think of that probably keeps them out entirely involve ties between Oak/Den or KC/Den plus the obvious. Not likely.

the good thing is, the ST mistakes are clearly fixable....no more Jones on punts and slater needs to hang onto that ball.

I think after a week of practice we see griff whalen out there next week.

They could still lose the division and end up in the wild card mix..There is less than a 1% chance but still..
If I read this right, a Jet win Thur night versus Miami clinches the division and a bye....Clinching the division ( Dolphins would have 6 losses) would mean only the West division champ could have a better record and the NFL North and South would have worst records or at best Pats own tiebreaker having swept the North..........

Yeah. For example, if NE loses out and MIA wins out, MIA wins the AFCE. So on to WC scenarios. We could have KC winning the AFCW at 13-3 and OAK getting the #5 seed at 12-4 and DEN winning out to finish at 11-5. Since NE would have lost to DEN in this scenario, DEN gets the #6 via the head-to-head tiebreaker and NE is out.

Anyhow, now that NE beat BAL, NE clinches the #2 and a bye with:
  • Any win in the last three games OR
  • Any MIA loss in the last three games AND any PIT loss in the last three games

No. PIT also needs to lose a game because the 3-way tiebreaker negates the head-to-head over PIT. If NE, PIT, and OAK or DEN tie at 11-5 then NE is the #3. When there is a 3-way tie the head-to-head tiebreaker changes. It only counts if one team beat the other two or one team lost to the other two. That won't come into play, so you go to conference record. PIT would have the best in that scenario and take the #1. Then OAK/DEN would have the tiebreaker over NE and get the #2.

Gotta get away from the binkie, Tom.

Brady to...
Edelman: 7 of 15 for 73 yards (rating: 61.2)
Everyone else: 18 of 22 for 333 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT (139.4)

Good notation. Although...it may be that the focus on Edelman has the defense focused there, too, allowing everyone else an extra inch or two.

quietly, bennett looks to be healthy again. 4 catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. if he can continue to get back to the player he was before he injured his ankle thats a pro-bowl tight end to our offense.

If that was the best defense in football then the Patriots actually do have the best defense in football because they were a much better defense last night. Take away the two special teams fumbles and that was headed for a blowout.

Got it ,thanks...
