If you think the issue is Brady - that's actually hilarious (kudos to those who know what I'm referencing).

He's not our problem, at all.

Thats the thing Brady is obviously not more an issue than individual issues everywhere else. But he played as garbage as the rest of this team.

can't wait for the buffalo game. when is it again?

No one can blame Brady for this loss. My QB is 41 years old and rushing for a first down and not even sliding. More heart than the whole team.

Well is he an all time great or not? You can't have it bot ways. Sorry but misses like on Dorsett being two steps ahead are what need to.be executed in this situation.

I feel like people are more concerned and defensive about Bradys legacy than about being objective.

Yes, he’s the GOAT. He can carry a mediocre team, but I’m not sure the defense is mediocre. It’s downright laughable.

Bortles is very average, but the D makes him look like an MVP.

This coaching. At some point, teams will/have figured out the Walmart cashiers in Patriots uniforms aren’t that good.

But, it’s early. It’s freaking the 2nd week. I’m pissed. Brady’s pissed. I’m willing to give it a few weeks. There is one goal and that goal is not lost in September.

Come on now. Look what he’s working with. And against the Jags D?

Again. Is he the GOAT or just one of the other elite QBs?

If we keep on calling him GOAT we should also hold him to a higher standard.

Yes blaming the unit that was +2 TO over the unit that was not able to move the ball at all with two supposed GOATs in the lineup is what's reasonable. Sure.

Seriously is there no scenario where Brady deserves some criticism as well ? Nobody is saying that D played good but they made more plays than the putrid offense.

Brady got hell of a beating straight from snap one. As someone already pointed out, we often had to use Gronkowski as an extra lineman in protection. You wont get very far with that against a team as good as Jacksonville.

Plenty of blame to go around. A lot of essentially new pieces on both units. Because they improved in prior years does not mean they will this year. But no game changers are walking through the door. Just have to get better.

I was disappointed by the non-competitive effort by the offense today as a whole. Outside of James White and Sony Michel, there's not a single player I can say anything positive about. That's not true, Trent Brown was pretty good again, IMO.

The defense wasn't great either, but they did force two turnovers, and they did lose three of their better players over the course of the game.

Gronkowski was invisible. Burkhead was invisible. Brady was bailing out of plays way too early most of the game, and was inaccurate for stretches (and the fumble after the pick was his fault).

I'll give lots of credit to Jacksonville, they showed up and played their best game. New England couldn't be assed to do the same, unfortunately.

It needs to get better, if they're going to do anything this year. I'm not stupid enough to write them off, but this was really disheartening. Not that they lost, but the fact that they didn't really show up, especially after Jacksonville scored on the first drive.

Camt blame the defense for 14-0 without mentioning how awful the offense looked on three consecutive drives. But whatevet Brady is god apparently. ****ing homers.

You also can't just neglect the fact that the defense literally made their own two turnovers irrelevant with their abysmal 3rd down defense. You're looking at a single stat in a stack of terrible ones. Getting some turnovers isn't the only thing that wins games from a defensive standpoint.

What does everyone think about Hightower thus far?

Bottom line is "all phases of the game" were not very good, especially in 1st-half of the game.

If this continues, Patriots will be lucky to do anything in the playoffs...

Please I invite you to show me the plays the defense looked extremely bad in the first half inside the rewatch thread.

Because from my POV Bortles played one of the best games of his life and also got lucky on crazy completions (eg. against Rowe) or fumbles that not only bounced back to the Jaguars but even gave them first downs.

You can only control so much. Didn’t you see him on the sidelines yelling “Do your job?” Clearly they didn’t because they couldn’t.

Could've had Amendola or Cooks out there instead of Patterson...

As Philly and Jacksonville show, you can have an average QB and beat good teams like the Pats if you are strong at the line of scrimmage. NE got licked on both sides of the ball today. That was the most glaring issue - not the receivers or the QB.
