Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Chiefs

Disturbing the number of big yardage plays the defense gave up tonight. The Chiefs have very fast skill players and the Pats' D looked like they were winded in the 4th quarter. I still ask myself why BB didn't get any fast defenders in the draft.

If we play Kc again we need some faster guys in there. Crossen or Jackson should help. The McCourties can’t keep up with him. Jones did well against him on a couple plays.

I think so also with JCJ or maybe Keep Gilmore on him, and probably more physical with him. We spent a lot of energy hitting and eyeing Kelce instead.

Not sure why we didn’t adjust quicker there. Giving him space when you’re playing Single High is clearly the wrong approach

It was single high safety with Harmon taking the deep routes. Looked like Cover-1 unless they were trying to disguise.
I'm just wondering, the way Harmon started off the play he had his hips turned looking at the offensive right side of the field. Maybe thought it was cover 2

To be fair, I don't see how they didn't call Zombo for an illegal block in the back on Slater on the huge run back. Pushed him from behind. They've called the exact same play at least 3 other times in other games..

Not sure what the deal was with the short kick. That is something that BB typically calls for some reason.
Zombo started the block in the front so it was legal but there was a blatant hold on the sideline. It was on Chung I think. The offender even raised his hands like “not me” when he was done holding.

Agree. Calling an offense meh after it scored over 43 is lame and corny. Can’t expect an O to score tds every drive. Defense giving up 40 is another issue.
The defense did a phenomenal job in the first half. The second half? Awful.

Again. Two short fields. Two turnovers by the offense. Two turnovers generated. Stopped the "unstoppable KC" offense despite being slow and not talented more often than not in the redzone.

They screwed up two big plays which puts them pretty much exactly to where the offense is.

I really wish Brady had gone down or thrown it away like we're used to seeing him do instead of taking the sack and fumble.

The offense scored 43 points dude. Do they need to be perfect to satisfy you?

The defense gave Brady the ball in the Chiefs redzone with a turnover and he gave the Chiefs the ball inside our 40 with his fumble. But we count the great play by HT as something that the offense should be praised for and the bad play by the GOAT as something that counts against the defense.

Similarly the ST brainfart on the return.

Go eat a snickers or something you are not seeing things rational.

Have we ever given up more points than that and still won??

I think we’ve discussed this at length. We obviously thought it was important to get max value at OL and RB, then we got Duke who is fast as hell and has good size and ball skills. Also got Crossen and JCJ at the end.

I would have liked a different selection at LB but Bentley seems promising more so on the inside
