Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Bears

O is operating at a greater level than 2007 right now. Then again, its a FF league so that shouldn't be surprising.

Harmon the closer as per.

Thought we played well. Again we were our own worst enemy. To many Turnovers, Brady i don't blame for his. That's just a bad play all round.

If we don't turn the ball over thats 21 PTS off the score and we win comfortably.

This Defence isn't as bad as everyone thinks, its stupid mental mistakes from the Offensive that puts the D in bad shape. Stop the turnovers and we will be fine. Thought Brady, White, Jules, Gordon, Trent Brown. Were all brilliant again, but we seriously need to stop making stupid errors.

There was a good ten seconds left on the clock by Tom Brady.

The defense sucks.

The defense gave up 21 points. The offense gave the Bears 2 Short fields and the Bears capitalized.

The guy who stood out as being really bad was Rowe. Though he did seem to tweak his groin again. Rowe should never have been lined up across from Cohen. That's a mismatch in favor of the Bears.

Jackson and Crossen got abused by the refs today..

On the positive side, this offense may be “Gronk proof” similar to the 2016 offense. That’s important on the quest for a SB.
The addition of Gordon is huge. Just wondering a bit about his big 50-yard gain where he looked like he was going slow. Was it fatigue, or his hamstring? Don't know, but I expected him to score after he broke away from the two tacklers after the catch. But it worked out well in the end. The Pats still scored and took more time off the clock.

Fouts is just awful. I don't mind Eagle but the play by play guy is almost always going to be at the mercy of who he is stuck with for color.

I don't mind Eagle per se. Just think his voice and enthusiasm is more suited for basketball games, because after a few of his calls I start getting really annoyed.

A win is a win but still not impressed with the defense at all. Trubisky isn't good but the pats made him look that way. At the end of the day this isn't a championship defense.

Offense will be okay but with Michelle done for the year they don't have a whole lot options left at running back.

Trubisky had 9 TD's and 1 Int over the last two games. He's not Rodgers but he has been playing better as of late. His problem is when he gets pressure he either scrambles or throws off target. Or you could say he makes poor decisions in pressure situations.

But this isn't a scrub Bears team. They have all the weapons and if you don't get enough pressure on Trubisky they can light you up.

That was quite a game

That is a very good question....he looked like he was running in slo motion....hope he didn’t reaggravate his hamstring....awesome play by him and at full strength/speed would have scored

Thanks for the special teams today.

Bears called some stupid plays. Like 1 minute to go at the half and they don't try a field goal but instead a short pass and clock runs out.

I hope Sony's injury isn't too serious.

He lucked out of 2 interceptions too.

I disagree. The defense played fairly well (notwithstanding some glaring individual blunders) for the majority of the game, but they did not finish the game well at all. Those final two drives were awful in terms of focus, effort, and energy.

Actually it is your take that is awful in terms of focus, effort, and energy . and you didn't even spend close to 50 min on the field..

Its useless but anyway - when you're 14 points up 6 min to the end you're playing the clock..

Not to worry - he was just gassed. Re-flaring a hammy would have been way more obvious.

Bears 21 points off turnovers.
mistakes, stupid penalties
2 EZ Int drops on D, bad whoops Int on O

Will give BB some things to discuss.
Heh

I hate scrambling QBs
too random.

This was an awfully sloppy game by all three units. With individual breakdowns everywhere to the point where I am wondering if someone will get cut or benched just to make a point.

The offense looked good for the cards they were dealt. A lot of the gameplan went out of the window when Sony got injured and the number of available plays was already affected by Gronk not being active. That being said that unit can't have two turnovers in a game and expect to win it.

Gordon still looks like is not even close to full speed. If he ever gets there this will give the offense the added dimension it needs with Michel seemingly being out for a longer time. McDaniels made the best out of it with some plays (White's final TD, the entire first drive) being just beautiful. Other series' were stinkers.

I don't even know how to approach criticizing the defense because the majority of issues are individual breakdowns and lack of execution.

For the most part they are not getting outplayed or outschemed but simply whiff plays. Additionally the other units have given them so many short fields and created situations where they have to play a lot of series with almost no rest. This obviously doesn't help either.

I mean we know that overall we don't have the most talented individual players, but mistakes are made on such a basic level (e.g. Clayborn losing contain again and again, Rowe missing the tackle on a QB, Gilmore missing the very same tackle on the same play, the dropped INTs and so on) that I don't see what the coaching staff can do except make the next week about fundamentals yet again or make some kind of roster move to get their attention.

I wish we could discuss schematic issues or creative gameplans instead because those are at least fascinating issues. This lack of energy or edge is just frustrating and simply sucks.

The special teams are overall too inconsistent. I will not count Pattersons fumble against the overall ST unit because it was yet another individual mistake but despite the two big plays there were overall too many negative things happening.

Overall I am happy we got out of this sloppy game with a win and that's pretty much the only positive I can take out of it.

Michel injury the top story for me. D needs to improve on qb scrambles. Love James White but don't want him to have such a heavy workload for too many games.
Beard and Bird are some of the worst in terms of announcing, Fouts struggles to complete words and make coherent sentences multiple times every game I have heard him call, but they do make me laugh sometimes.
