Post Combine Forum Mock Draft

How do people want to play the Patriots pick? A seperate thread with a poll question? If so, how long to leave the vote open? Or, and I think this might be better, keep it in this thread - list a number of prospects and the first one to get seven votes is the pick. What do people think?

A suggestion:

1. Have people list their top 3 options. 5 points for 1st spot, 3 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd.
2. First player who gets to 50 points wins.

It's a bit more complicated, but it would give more information about people's thoughts.

Is anyone going to make the KC pick? Ok, I will go with wr Brandin Cooks, coming off his impressive time at the combine.

Bengles are on the clock!!!

Bengals take Bradley Robey, CB, Ohio St.

San Diego is on the clock.

My only issue with this is that it would need to be managed. I think it's a great idea but I'm only going to be around for another hour or two. Would you be up for managing the process? Other than my one reservation, I like the idea.

I agree with Mayo's suggestion except that 50 points seems high seeing as only about 7 people have taken part in the thread thus far.

San Diego selects David Yakney, Guard , Stanford

Browns on the clock

I can try. We're close to the Pats' pick, so I'm assuming we'll settle it in the next 2-3 hours.

I used 50 based on Manx's 7 prediction (7x5=35) plus assuming that a lot of the guys who were in the running would get 2nd or 3rd place votes. But I'm willing to settle for a lower threshold. Also, I assume some people who haven't played will eventually weigh in - OTG, MHTK, etc. But if you want a lower number, I'm ok with it.

Cleveland Browns select Odell Beckham (and can't believe he's still available). The Saints are OTC

We're also going to need to get nominations for the Patriots pick. I'll suggest Brandin Cooks and Ryan Shazier.

Phew. I thought I was going to have to include a WR in my top 3 for the Pats.

1 Houston Texans - Blake Bortles
2 St. Louis Rams (from Washington) - Greg Robinson
3 Jacksonville Jaguars - Jadeveon Clowney
4 Cleveland Browns - Johnny Manziel
5 Oakland Raiders - Teddy Bridgewater
6 Atlanta Falcons - Jake Matthews
7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Khalil Mack
8 Minnesota Vikings - Sammy Watkins
9 Buffalo Bills - Taylor Lewan
10 Detroit lions - Darqueze Dennard
11 Tennessee Titans - Anthony Barr
12 New York Giants - Eric Ebron
13 St. Louis Rams - Hasean Clinton-Dix
14 Chicago Bears - Aaron Donold
15 Pittsburgh Steelers Justin Gilbert
16 Dallas Cowboys Timmy Jernigan
17 Baltimore Ravens Mike Evans
18 New York Jets - Marqise Lee
19 Miami Dolphins - Xavier Su'a-Filo
20 Arizona Cardinals - Ra'Shede Hageman
21 Green Bay Packers - Louis Nix
22 Philadelphia Eagles - Calvin Pryor
23 Kansas City Chiefs - Brandin Cooks
24 Cincinnati Bengals - Bradley Roby
25 San Diego Chargers - David Yankey
26 Cleveland Browns (from Indianapolis) - Odell Beckham
27 New Orleans Saints
28 Carolina Panthers
29 New England Patriots
30 San Francisco 49ers
31 Denver Broncos
32 Seattle Seahawks

We're also going to need to get nominations for the Patriots pick. I'll suggest Brandin Cooks and Ryan Shazier.

Cooks is off the board to Cleveland.

I second Shazier. Other options still available include DE Kony Ealy and DE/DT Stephon Tuitt. Remarkably, I believe that Zach Martin is still on the board.

Jace Amaro will have to be considered and Kyle Fuller (wink, wink, nudge nudge everybody )

Why take nominations? Let anyone put in their top 3, and go from there.
