I haven't seen any mention of the report that the cops had to break up an after hours party attended by Patriots players after the AFC Championship. It doesn't seem like that big a deal. The interesting part is that this could influence decisions on who to keep if it turns out that the players like Diggs or Barmore were ringleaders.

Thought we had all choir boys.

There is a rumor that Diggs scrubbed his Instagram account of all things Patriots.

Here it is. It's wiped out. That would be interesting if something was brewing behind the scenes which I initially was pushing earlier this season. I didn't think they'd keep him at that cap number, but I'm starting to lean in his favor because of the optics of the franchise. We'll see soon.

No question that's some posturing with one week to go

I'd think that Diggs' position with them is that he earned the $21 mil they paid him last year and is worthy of a cap hit/salary that's at the WR franchise tag level for the next 2 years.

The Pats seem less sure given his off-field problems (and who knows, there might be more below the surface given his breakup with babymama Cardi B) - though they've been very diplomatic in the press, that might be their way of saying that they'll play ball with him if he plays ball and lessens the cap hit.

$9 million in dead money hurts - as we'll be spending on top of that if we are thinking of replacing him with a "true" #1 WR - which I think is wasted money in the McDaniels/Maye offense that spreads the ball and doesn't want or need a WR to claim 150 targets a year just to equal Digg's production on 100 targets.

But $21 mil for one season isn't bad even with the dead money - as we know that when given a choice between paying fictional "dead money" and REAL money, owners and GMs like to keep as much money as they can.

Some speculated that Diggs legal counsel prompted him to fly under the radar which is a joke.

AB jr. Drama and trouble follow Diggs wherever he turns. Cardi B is in some sort of court battle in regards to their child. This restaurant owner is ready to file suit when Boston takes away his liquor license. He will never change.

A police report explained that officers responded to a noise complaint at 2:20 a.m. ET on Tuesday, January 27. From the article posted by NBC10: “When they arrived, they found a private party going on in the basement of the restaurant. Officers noted that people were drinking and they smelled marijuana. They said security briefly blocked their access on the stairs and that several women who were nude or wearing bikinis ran toward the kitchen area. Officers also noticed several large hookahs in the room.”

sounds like a good time

Between his personal life and contract situation there is something(s) going on behind the scenes with Diggs. It seemed to me that Vrabel toned down his praise for the player going into the Super Bowl. I didn't think much of it beyond trying to motivate the player or manage contract expectations. One way or another this situation is worth keeping an eye on.

'Once inside, police found about 30 people and wrote that “the odor of tobacco and marijuana was very strong.”

Smoking indoors in Boston? Isn't that a capital offense these days?

Why was there a party for winning an AFC title game? Seems odd. Usually that is reserved for winning the SB.

That would have never happened during the dynasty years.
How many teams have won the AFC Championship game this century.

The team had every right to a party. It is totally irrelevant if you think that Bill and Tom wouldn't have celebrated. I guess it is really going to be terrible to be playing for Brady. LV is not likely to win a Super Bowl in his lifetime.

Sounds like buyer's remorse (the owner). He's lucky they didn't actually go to his home.

Yes, but: It's not the first time Estella has gotten in trouble.

  • The board cited Brandao in 2024 after they said he failed to cooperate with police during an October 2023 incident.
  • The board suspended Estella's license in February 2025 after Brandao got into it with a police officer investigating a fight outside his restaurant, per UniversalHub.
  • In that case, an officer said he refused to sign an acknowledgment of a citation, while Brandao said he was asking questions, not refusing to sign.
"Hey, Officer, what happens if I don't sign?" "I don't have a pen." "Got another pen? This one seems to be out of ink" "Do I need this notarized?" "You got a problem with after dinner fights?"

I’m ambivalent about Diggs. If they keep him cool, if they don’t also cool.

Caveat being they need to replace his production.

If I am NE I am cutting Diggs and going for Pierce.

Whether you think Pierce is a true WR1 or not, he is a legitimate deep threat which is what they need. He forces the defense to respect him, which opens up coverage in the short/intermediate area. The Pats have many guys who can take advantage of that even without Diggs.

I'd also then sign a TE who can block - Otton would be my primary but Goedert and Njoku are also solid options. You can probably get both of those players for a smaller 2026 cap hit than Diggs had.

I’ve been in favor of keeping Diggs, but this has me reconsidering. If he was even just attending this party it’s enough for me to let him go. Too many headaches already from questionable judgment. Leopard won’t change its spots.

Thought we had all choir boys.

You may not understand this but there is a difference between a policy of " no assholes," and "only choir boys." The Patriots aren't all choir boys, but they do have very few assholes. I realize that the no assholes policy disrupts your desire for them to bring in complete ******* wide receivers, but you will just have to learn to live with that.
