With both RB's out, this game takes on a whole new look.

If Miami can stop Morris, Cassel will need to move the offense with his arm.

Belichick loves to play with the injury report. Right now it looks like Maroney and Jordan will sit.

I disagree. I think that as long as we have one of those guys we should be ok. Yes, it is nice to have different kinds of backs, but we will have Morris to pound and Faulk. i think people sometimes overlook his ability. we should be fine. I also suspect we will pass more, and planned to do this regardless of who was or was not injured. our offense is built to pass, thats what we need to do to beat good teams

How can you say the second sentence with confidence after typing the first one?

Right now it looks like a deceiving thread title. Perhaps the mods could add a question mark?

When it comes to the Patriots injury report I can't say anything with confidence . Right now it looks like Maroney and Jordan will not play.

If they don't, Cassel will have to throw the ball more than he did last week. Thats the point of this thread.

Deceiving?

Are you saying that I am trying to trick you into thnking they will not play?

Jordan is doubtful with a foot injury. Maroney was pulled early last week and missed most of this week.

I don't think its a big leap to think that neither will play vs the Dolphins.

How do you get there? This doesn't sound like "both will sit."

Doubtful: RB LaMont Jordan (did not practice–foot)
Questionable: RB Laurence Maroney (limited participation in practice–shoulder)

Sorry, bud - - you're wrong and Spacecrime is right - - which is why I edited the thread title for ya (added the "possibly" and the question mark). I'm sure you meant no harm, but it was deceiving when you make a thread title like that as a statement with no question marks.

Back to the underlying theme: Assuming the worst, you still have Morris, Faulk, Evans, and Eckel. I'd say there's enough talent in that foursome to keep the fishies honest regarding the run game.

If you are still really concerned, Ventrone or Welker can take some RB reps or you can bring Ben-Jarvis Green-Ellis up from the Practice Squad and cut Alexander for a game. It'll work out okay.

Re: Possibly No Maroney or Jordan vs Miami?

take this as a rumor, but I heard from a pretty decent source that those guys are out, and while he doesn't have a crystal ball, and my source isn't belichick, it's probably no coincidence they re-signed eckel.
anyway, I'm not too worried about it --- maroney doesn't play d, and I would hope they could put up better than 10 on miami w/o him.

Isn't Belichick" and "pretty decent source" in the same breath? Pull the other one hombre! Thanks for sharing.

Re: Possibly No Maroney or Jordan vs Miami?

haha...yeah, I doubt he's in the circle of 4, but his intel's been pretty good in the past.
we'll see, I suppose --- as long as it's not some long term injuries, I don't care too much.
hopefully, they'll be good to go for some of those tougher games in the middle of the schedule, but I'm not overlooking miami!

I guess this means you're not broadcasting from WEEI...

Like yourself, I'm not overly concerned about either player at this point in time, or the team's prospect's for victory Sunday. Getting Maroney and Jorden healthy now will pay dividends later.

Re: Possibly No Maroney or Jordan vs Miami?

Lamont Jorden and Keven Faulk will be fine against these guys. Are you serious? We'll be fine. Maroneys 40 yards won't be missed,
allthough Morris will be missed,, but, we'll make up for it with a brutal dose of LJ. Plus our recievers will light it up against this secondary.

The injury situation on this team is pretty frustrating. What happens if we run out of skill players on offense?

I think you have it mixed up Jordan isnt goin to play along with Maroney, Faulk and Morris with be the rb's.

Re: Possibly No Maroney or Jordan vs Miami?

yeah, change that to a brutal dose of morris.

miami will be getting the same dosage of LJ that the afc west is getting this year.

Re: Possibly No Maroney or Jordan vs Miami?

anyone know when jordan got hurt ? was it in the jets game ?

Re: Possibly No Maroney or Jordan vs Miami?

Well, good thing we held onto all 4 RB's, eh?

From what I hear,Jordan has been a player made out of glass as he has been injured alot but when he is healthy he is a beast
