Great gesture by Portnoy, even though I thought a "go fund me" effort to rent a blimp would be more effective..
Meanwhile Barstool is getting a lot of publicity... enough said, win win for all.
NBC may be reluctant to focus on the towels though, do not want to offend the Commish...
No, 13, a GOOD job by Portnoy. A great job would have been to get 60000 of the Clown shirts to the opening night crowd. And the more I read this, it would have been easier to ship them to the individual fans than to try and distribute them like they are proposing to do. PLUS the Clown shirts would have been a more continual and lasting image than the flags.Great Job by Portnoy.
Sorry. Kind of assumed folks out here knew about the company. If you google "Barstool Sports" you get about 6,000,000 hits, the first of which is a Paid Ad: Barstool Sports StoreThanks for the insight, care to share a link now?

Love the sentiment, but you're spending a lot of this dude's money there. The towels probably cost him less than 25% of what he has to put out for the T-shirts...and there are those shipping costs...

How can they not show the crowd? Every view for the entire tv production is being filmed from all angles, including overhead. This can't be ignored or blocked out and would be EPIC news as well!Needless to say, there will be zero shots of the crowd on the TV Broadcast that night.
I totally agree! It going to be awesome but I remember 2 years ago I was at the Monday night game vs the Ravens and there were so many anti-ESPN signs there that they did everything they could not to show the crowd. How can they not show the crowd? I was jsut about to post this, there won't be any crowd shots that night.Great gesture by Portnoy, even though I thought a "go fund me" effort to rent a blimp would be more effective..

Giving away 70,000 towels is a huge gesture in itself, he's looking at around $150,000 to get them made.
Draft Kings advertisement is paying for some of that, no? In that video posted?
Yeah, I'm always amazed at how fast folks are to give away other people's money, especially players' at contract time.this
Figure on the low end its $5 per shirt to produce = $350,000
Figure on the low end its $2 per shirt to ship = $140,000
Just to produce and ship the shirts (nevermind the impossible task of getting addresses for all 70k attendees) would cost him $490,000 (on the low end).
Figure at a minimum 10% would've bought the shirt @ $25 a piece. That's another $175,000 of unrealized revenue out of his pocket.

However, that being said, it sure beats the alternative of laying down and doing nothing. If flags are the thing, then I would suggest some sort of an agreed upon signal where 60000 fans would hold their flags open and in the air so we get the image on the TV of a SEA of clown faces (like the soccer picture in this thread). Simply waving them around will be meaningless.
For example, after every Pats first down and score, fans would hold their flags open for 10-20 seconds. The effect would be like back in the day when fans were asked to hold individual cards that created a large image. Only this time it wouldn't be just one section of stands but the ENTIRE building and it would all be a sea of that blue punctuated by that red nose and the visage of Fraudger Goodell. It would be EPIC.
If you are talking about Portnoys video, no. The reference to Draft Kings was that they have created a billion dollar 'bracket' contest. If you play draft kings and draft the perfect team, most points possible, you win a billion. (since there is a salary cap its more than impossible)Draft Kings advertisement is paying for some of that, no? In that video posted?
Yeah really, how loaded do they think Portnoy is lol? That's hella expensive. It was a great job.Love the sentiment, but you're spending a lot of this dude's money there. The towels probably cost him less than 25% of what he has to put out for the T-shirts...and there are those shipping costs...
Wow. Man, I've got to find a way to be there.
