Porter says Taylor could be on way to Patriots

Yawn. For me, it's way too early on Sunday to ponder unknowables and the credibility of "he said, he saids" about a topic we've already beaten to death. Now, where's my coffee?

Did you say that before BB selected Mayo last year? How'd that work out?

Your talking a top 10, 15 guy compared to a lower round guy. The chances just aren't as likely as finding the same caliber player we can depend on in year one.

Additionally, Mayo didn't have a significant position change like any of the OLB other than Sintim would if they came here.

Jason Taylor should go back to miami, its closer to the beach and the ocean, which makes it easier for his shark jump he's gonna have this year.

I think Taylor is a done deal and will be announced during training camp so he has some "quality time" with his family. Taylor, like most veterans, does not like training camp. Time will tell. What quarterback does Taylor want to lead his last chance at a SuperBowl, noodle arm or Tom Brady? Not much of a choice in my opinion.

Differ as you must, but to believe that there is an OLB available at 23 who projects to have the same impact as Mayo in 2009 shows very little knowledge of the draft or the players available. There is no OLB who projects to have that kind of impact as a 3-4 OLB, with possible exception of Curry.

Sorry, but I beg to differ.

I think you might be correct. The only one I think who could be a sleeper is Michael Johnson. 6' 7" and 266. He was timed at 4.49 by one scout on his pro day. 23 Reps. 38.5 vertical and a 4.37 20 yard shuttle which is the same as first round TE Pettigrew. "At Tech, the Yellow Jackets asked Johnson to do a lot, according to defensive line coach Giff Smith. Johnson had to rush the passer, play the run and sometimes cover the tight end or running backs in pass coverage. He did drop back at GT." He had 9 sacks for GT last year. Military backround. He comes across as someone who cares about the game, wants to do well and is a team-first guy.His father is a purple heart Nam vet.

Big Blue has the Giants interested in late round one.

If he has a little of Jason Taylor in him, we should look at this kid.

Certainly not claiming to be a draft expert and am a novice at best, but how many people here pegged Mayo as an impact rookie that would be an effective starter from game one on. For that matter, I don't remember a lot of people here even predicting Mayo to be a top ten pick. All I keep hearing is how this a great year for picking up a linebacker. Who really knows.
