I still can't believe this narrative of the "Jags getting robbed" has latched on as a thing.
Not only was each call blatantly correct, but for just about every gripe over a non-call there's an equal non-call on the other side:
- Chung holding Lewis was similar to Hogan getting swarmed prematurely.
- Rowe being SLIGHTLY early on a bang-bang play in real time is outdone by the holding of Cooks arm for 10 yards on a deep throw (that one REALLY shoulda been.
- Amendola's supposed headbutt is offset by Jack's super late tackle on James White in the endzone.
- Saw one pretty obvious offensive holding on both sides not called, but other than the very blatant one when Bortles was sacked by Butler they weren't calling offensive holding on either side all day
But what I struggle with most by far with this narrative is that, other than the most egregious example of PI on the day being called on Ramsey in the second half, almost all these flags occured IN THE FIRST HALF. If the drive before the half that got extended by back-to-back penalties occurred as the go-ahead drive in the fourth, I could at least understand where these idiots are coming from. But you go into halftime with a four point lead and then blame the refs for non-calls that are EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED? It boggles the mind.
