on the Lebatard show yesterday he basically insinuated that Brady was doing something like steroids. was talking about some of baseball players and steroids and made the comment something like "why are we not questioning how Brady is doing something we've never seen at age 40". pretty irresponsible of him to put that out there with no actual fact just his not understanding how Brady is so good, he's on a national show so many people who hate pats will hear that and just run with it.

If nothing else, at some point in the next 2 weeks ESPN will run some stupid hit piece rehashing the various stupid ******** it's crammed into the national conversation over the past decade and a half. Something something stolen playbooks, something something warm gatorade, something something filmed practice.

New stories? Probably/hopefully not, although I'm sure they'll be digging high and low looking for one. Gotta get them sweet clicks.

I don’t watch ESPN at all but I met a friend at a bar Monday that had ESPN on, I couldn’t hear the commentary but while I was there each one of the shows that came on led off with a story about the Jags “getting robbed.” When in truth al that happened was that they got beat. It’s abundantly clear that those programming the shows at ESPN have extensive bias against the Patriots, and that’s disgraceful, I’ll never watch that sack of sh.t network again with the exception of the Patriot games I cannot watch elsewhere. I look forward to the day when they stop firing and close their doors for good. They are liars and scumbags and I can’t wait until they are gone.

Hell, you can just LOOK at Brady and tell he's not messing with steroids.

If Edelman's story from several years ago came out today, the man would have been pilloried...no chance for the truth to come out and exonerate him. I'd say this suggestion would be the worst case scenario. I don't trust that there's any real burden of proof for that to take off and become something crazy.
NASA: 'Potentially Hazardous Asteroid' will cruise past Earth on Super Bowl Sunday

BTW Do you know of any way to make my TV automatically mute whenever Collinsworth opens up his stupid mouth?

I'm not interested in subjecting myself to three and one half hours of Collinsworth blabbering about Patriots' fake scandals, controversies, cheating and asterisks reinforcing national propaganda with no basis in reality and no relevance to football...

As far as the whole getting more calls thing. I believe BB communicates with the officials and the league office in a way that stands out from a lot of other coaches and organizations. He most likely informs them on tendencies he has seen and certain formations/plays he will run, including the rub techniques they use in the passing game. The refs do their job to the best of their ability and judge these Mickey Mouse organizations the same way they judge the Patriots.

I’ve had enough of Patriots scandals. What about creating some for the eagles?

QB competition for the eagles. Who will start next season?

Browns offer 3 #1 picks for Wentz.

Eagles coordinators in running for Cardinals job.

Pederson faps to secret recording of eagles players.

Wentz injury might never fully heal.

I think someone will try to mine the Alex Guerrero angle again. It seems like those negative stories have been coming out for 2 or 3 years now, so you would wonder what's left to discover, but I think someone will try.

I would not be surprised to see a story creating a link, however tenuous, between Guerrero and a PED/HGH distributor with the goal being to implicate Brady. It would provide a convenient answer when people wonder how Brady can play so well and be a favorite for MVP at 40.

Of course, all the people who thought the Manning/HGH story was no big deal or demanded more proof will believe this story immediately. It doesn't matter if the incriminating link is that Guerrero and the PED guy both had booths at the same fitness conference 10 years ago, that will be concrete evidence of cheating by Brady.

Beat me to it. Maybe somebody uncovers AG treating some lesser known clients with HGH in the past and now Brady becomes the big target.

Regards,
Chris

agree, but people seem to want to latch onto anything negative they hear about Pats as fact.

Brady drug scandal

I still can't believe this narrative of the "Jags getting robbed" has latched on as a thing.

Not only was each call blatantly correct, but for just about every gripe over a non-call there's an equal non-call on the other side:
  • Chung holding Lewis was similar to Hogan getting swarmed prematurely.
  • Rowe being SLIGHTLY early on a bang-bang play in real time is outdone by the holding of Cooks arm for 10 yards on a deep throw (that one REALLY shoulda been.
  • Amendola's supposed headbutt is offset by Jack's super late tackle on James White in the endzone.
  • Saw one pretty obvious offensive holding on both sides not called, but other than the very blatant one when Bortles was sacked by Butler they weren't calling offensive holding on either side all day
But what I struggle with most by far with this narrative is that, other than the most egregious example of PI on the day being called on Ramsey in the second half, almost all these flags occured IN THE FIRST HALF. If the drive before the half that got extended by back-to-back penalties occurred as the go-ahead drive in the fourth, I could at least understand where these idiots are coming from. But you go into halftime with a four point lead and then blame the refs for non-calls that are EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED? It boggles the mind.

Yep. There is so much *****ing about it. The refs were decent that game. Did they miss some penalties? Sure, on both sides. The calls went our way but it was because they were legit.

They just can't stomach the Patriots and created a totally fictional narrative.

The notion of Foles' role being temporary and that he likely won't even be with the team next season actually is significant. It's hard to get a bead on the guy -- he played lights out vs. Minnesota but struggled in games prior to that.

I am concerned gronk’s status will be manipulated by goodell.

Tomase is going to try to broadcast a conspiracy.

Then, since no one pays attention to him, he's going to take multiple cases of twinkies and yoohoo chocolate soda into a booth and spit out conspiracy theories over the air until they break the door down and shoot him with a tranquilizer gun.

Refs helping the Patriots win games is the current narrative. Fans are apoplectic about it and so are several beat writers and talentless but popular football analysts. Even former players:

That Uche guy was apparently putting us on too. Went to his twitter page. Says 8 year vet, but I sure don't remember him.

The real cheating scandal has never broken and is about to be broken by Tomase and some NY columnists. In 1997, the Patriots tricked the New York Jets into tampering with Bill Parcells during the Super Bowl, The real intent of the Jets was to tamper with BB, who should be leading the Jets to their 8th Superbowl appearance. League sources confirm that they, I mean the Jets, meant to be calling Belichick during the season/playoffs, but for some reason were always forced to deal with Parcells.

When I got to work yesterday a fellow employee asked me how the game was Sunday(he knew I had tickets). Then he said if I saw the NBC report that the NFL admitted that the NFL rigged games to get the best possible ratings. I told him to expect all kinds of conspiracies and scandles right now. Last night I stumbled on a YouTube video of what he was talking about. I won't post the link but it turns out it was from a satire channel. It when had a Goodell imposter stating that it was his job to make sure that the Patriots were the NFL kings forever. That guy actually believed it was a real story.

The fumble could have gone either way too.
