I think it's been pretty well covered here. But for me, you don't have to get much farther than Brady, Gronk, Welker, Hernandez. Gronk is the best player at the position. Hernandez isn't far beyond, especially after that SB performance. Welker is the best slot receiver. Brady is a top 3 QB.

    This is a passing league.

How are the Jets going to score enough points to compete with that? And their defense declined last year, what's their plan to turn that around?

this brings up an interesting question, who would start at QB for NE if they swapped Brady for Sanchez? I'd have to think that both Hoyer and Mallett would beat out Sanchez in camp.

In a camp battle Sanchez wouldn't win the starting job.

He doesn't have the accuracy of Hoyer or the arm strength of Mallett, in that scenario I'd take Hoyer - he has the better accuracy of the 3.

Sanchez also has some of the worst awareness I've seen from a starting QB.

I just blend the front line players currently available or expected to be available this year, and use only "proven ability" as my guide. When I do that, the Patriots' edge on offense really shows itself, IMO:

    QB: Brady, Sanchez, Tebow, Hoyer
    RB: Woodhead/Greene, Ridley, McKnight
    TE: Gronk, Hernandez, Keller, Schiancoe
    WR: Welker, Lloyd, Holmes/Gaffney, Branch
    LT: D'Bust, Solder
    LG: Mankins, Slauson
    C: Mangold, Koppen/Connolly
    RG: Waters, Moore
    RT: Vollmer, Hunter
    Backup OL: NE

You know I usually stay out of this Pats/Jets message board rivalry but that post on JI is ******* hysterical. How delusional can you be.

Rah!Rah! is too cute. His blind homerism is something to wonder. Even the Jets fans on the board are getting tired of his act as displayed by the post he is responding to in this thread.

Personally, I have a harder time finding a WR unit in the AFC who don't outshine the Jets' WR corp than teams that do.

BTW, Rah!Rah! is the king of speaking out of both sides of his mouth. Here is his excuse to why Sanchez threw so bad today:

    http://www.jetsinsider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=245825&page=13

So they have best receiving corp in the AFC, but Sanchez sucks if a couple of WRs are out? I am sure Brady would still complete most of his passes in practice if both Lloyd and Welker missed practice.

first, nobody cares what stupid jets fans say

2nd, the difference at QB is massive....it's pretty much the best versus the worst

3rd, its depth and sub packages........on both sides of the ball, the Jets are straight up, one way without the talent on the bench to do anything that is much different from their standard set.

teams will be able to put 8 in the box......the jets have basically 2 proven targets on their entire offense (holmes and keller)

I will put this out there.....the jets have not developed a single viable receiving target since sanchez has been there. kerley is as good as it gets. and stephen hill? the guy is a horrible route runner and has the WR intellect of a box of rocks

the jets need many things to go right just for them to be mediocre......c ouple of things go wrong, and they'll have a top 5 pick in 2013

I disagree! Since it is a slow news day with the Pats, Jets Insider has been wildly entertaining. Some of the posts there have been the most unintentionally funny things I have read in a while.

    Yikes.

Holmes + Schilens + Keller + Hill + Kerley = 2055 NFL receiving yards in 2011. Obviously, Hill is a rookie. But even if we, generously, add in his 850 yards at a collegiate level, it's still under three thousand. Generous considering he only had 428 yards in his previous two seasons, combined.

    Gronk + Welker + Hernandez + Lloyd + Gaffney = 5719 NFL receiving yards in 2011.

And that leaves Branch - who would've been the Jets second highest receiver - out of the equation.

So, using that logic, if the Jets have the top group of receivers in the NFL, does Ray Ray think that it's an indictment on Sanchez that the Jets weren't the best offense in the AFC last season, and top three in the NFL? Because, if he truly believed that nonsense, then something would have to give. Either the Jets receiving corp are incredibly overrated or Sanchez is just so terrible that he still couldn't make it work with the finest receiving corps in the AFC.

He'd say neither - it was all Schotty's fault and a bad offensive system holding all of these elite players back. See, there's always another way out.

    Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Just saw the trade for Otah was rescinded. Does that mean Wayne Hunter is their starting RT AGAIN?

If so, allow me to board my roflcopter and chopper my way over to the Meadowlands.

That is like saying nobody cares what Robin Williams, Bill Cosby, Geore Carlin, or Sam Kinnison say.
    You must respect comedy gold.
