Players Vote to Approve New CBA

So three division winners host three WC entrants. And only one team per conference gets a bye. I'm sure fans will love to see their team go 14-2 and play in the WC round. Using this format, there's a high chance the Pats don't win banner # 6 in 2018.

There better be a clause in the CBA where the Goodell doesn't get automatic final say on certain stuff.

This looks like a loss for the players. Again.

More players get playoff pay. The CBA isn't really concerned about who wins the Super Bowl.

Disappointing Brady supported this, it's not like he needs the money.

If I'm Brady I just want to make sure I play though (even thought the 17 game season is going to ruin a bunch of his records).

17 games, huh. So...if you are not playing in London/Mexico City or a neutral ground...about half of the teams in the league will have one extra away game? How is this going to work?
Super obvious issue that I never even considered.

We saw that very differently, I took Brady's 'well done De' to be in regards to the 3 page open letter. I read the letter and even though I don't like the CBA I gained a new perspective on DeMaurice Smith from it. It was cogent and compelling. In that respect I agree with Brady's assessment, the letter itself was well done.
Read open letter. Color me not impressed.

It just waters the product down so the NFL can manufacture who it wants to win the SB easier than ever before. It is all part of the grand plan.

I love it, baby!!!

The ratification of the CBA increases the chances of Brady sticking around. Heck, it has already taken the Titans out of the bidding because they can only tag one guy now...and I expect Amari Cooper or Dak Prescott to be signed in the next 24-48 hours too....likely taking the Boys out of the Brady sweepstakes.

Bucs, Raiders, Chargers, and maybe the Niners are the only players now....

I'm shocked
But at least we both read it, which is more than most of us who don't like the CBA will do. So while we disagree on its quality, I respect that you made the effort.

Exactly, it never ceases to amaze me how many fans fail to understand the base logic behind that thought. It's only a sport to us. For everyone else be they players, union, agents, owners, coaches, team & stadium staff, media, refs or league office types it is a business.

Do most unions sign off on 10-year agreements? Never been in a union so I don't know, but doubt teachers, firefighters, cops, civil servants would agree to a 10-year deal.
I was a firefighter for 30+ years. We would always be negotiating without a contract for 3 or so years and then do a 5 year contract giving us 2 years with future earnings. We would get retroactive earnings for the down years. Then deja vu all over again.

Municipalities usually only have budgets year to year so they don’t like to promise money in future years that they may not have.

I'm surpised how many here don't seem to value the labor peace for another decade that was just voted in. I think that's huge.
