A lot of attention is given to the return of Hightower and rightfully so but I will be focusing on Shelton because if he can live up to the 2016 Branch expectations the rezt will fall into place.

Shelton is the number one guy I'll be watching Sunday.

I liked what I saw from Clayborn in the preseason, but it seems to beg the issue when only a few players are highlighted.. or course there is #12 & #87, but to highlight a few begs the real issue is how good is this team.. have always been impressed with the D line rotation, and the mix and match choices Flores will have.. along with some depth in the secondary. LB seems thin, need guys to stay healthy.

Offensively there are more questions particularly at WR, but the Pats have fielded teams with less than stellar WR corps and done OK.. when the draft took place it was anticipated that Matthews and Britt would be in the mix, but they went down and the NFL game of attrition took its toll before the season even began..

-- Jon Jones, who seems likely to be sharing "starter" nickel-DB duties with Harmon.
-- Trey Flowers, who will be working with a complete DL for the first time since 2016.
