1. I love losing preseason games. Meaningless in the standings, but plenty of fodder for BB the following week.

2. Burkhead looks great in the slot... that TD is gonna change some coverages they get when he lines up there... and he's a tough runner. OL didn't open up many holes for him, though.

3. Butler had a rough start to the game. Again, I see that as a positive. He's a grinder and will push himself even harder.

4. That Brady high lofted throw on the almost-INT... that style seems better suited to a fly pattern than an out route. Which of course I have great knowledge on based on my many nights spent at a Holiday Inn Express. LOL

5. Halfway through the game, my feed from Boston died, so I picked up the Houston feed. Words cannot describe what a wonderful change that was... just two professional announcers talking football, with no narcissistic blabbermouth in the booth...

...let alone the two in the peanut gallery.

I'm watching the Rebroadcast on NFLN, is that the Houston broadcast?

Yes -- or so I'd bet -- that was the live NFL Game Pass feed. I'm with oldrover 100%. Sure, they looked at things from a Houston point of view, but they were well informed and ... well, I think "narcissistic blabbermouths" describes exactly what they weren't.

And they were extremely respectful of the Pats, often referring to them as the 'world champs' or some variation. Classy.

I rewatched the game on game pass and it was the Houston Broadcast. It was much better.

One funny comment after the punt bounced off of Coleman's chest. "I'll tell you what, that play right there will get you an apple and a roadmap in a hurry". haha What?

If I could figure out a way to deal with the 5-second time delay, I'd turn off the sound on my TV and use the broadcast from WBLM instead. MUCH better than the Patriots TV pre-season crew, and better than whatever the broadcast stations bring in the regular season.

But until I can get that 5-second video delay to synch with the FM Radio feed, I'm stuck. I have tried numerous times, but it's just unwatchable like that. Sigh.

The O'Shaugnessy vs Hollister TE3 roster battle should be interesting over the next two weeks.

I'll say this much: despite the injuries so far, this team still has a lot of talent available, and I, for one, am happy to have such an embarrassment of riches. Other teams are looking for ONE decent TE. We have a 3rd one that would easily make it onto most other team's 1st string. We have a back up QB who would be a starter on some other teams, and a good one at that.

I am enjoying this pre-season more so than many of the past years.

I don't know what the deal with Butler is, I've never seen a kid be so consistently in position and be practically victimized by amazing toe tap catches and/or perfect ball placement. I honestly don't recall too many times he was beaten as badly as he was during this game and I'm not worried about it at all.

if i ever have to listen to the blatherings of fauria again during a broadcast or on 'eei i will pour drano down both of my auditory canals.

As much as we talk about the wide-outs, I think we're going to see a lot of passes to the RBs this season. It's wonderful to get a few yards on relatively safe passes, and then occasionally see moves like Burkhead and Foster showed that show how we can get big bags of yards on a single play. James White looked good too. This is going to be a hard offense to stop.

Not too worried about the big plays we let up on D either. That's what happens when you play the 2nd/3rd/4th string players.

I've decided I will make my best effort to watch a stream from the opposing team's broadcast if possible before I watch NE's broadcast. It's just always 1000 times better. Houston's broadcast was WORLDS better. NE's is horrific every single season and it's pathetic honestly. 5 time world champs deserve better.

Anyone else missing Don Cricqui?

Only thing I didn't like was how they knew absolutely nothing about our team, which is reasonable. Not like our preseason guys know anything about the Patriots either.
