There has been a lot of indicators through many different sources about the relationship. It’s fine to maintain healthy skepticism but you seem to be outright rejecting any validity.

Just reflecting skepticism. Those "indicators" are very dicey if you look deeply at them. Nothing on the record, nothing from people directly involved, just a bunch of sizzle, no bacon so far.

He had an OL coach calling the plays. He deserved to be, and seems a lot of guys had Mac's back. Kraft has even supported this narrative.

I can see that Bill is sore that Mac took things out of house. I can see that he'd at least take the temperature of what the market is for the kid. I think that Bill royally eff'd up the offense last year with FM/JJ, and the kid made a call out of frustration. I think Bill has zero friends in the media and for the first time, there's a chink in his armor.

I hope you are right. Not because I am a huge fan of Mac, because I think this will not play well in the locker room. If Mac is being shopped, that means that BOB does not think he is the guy. Either way, starting over with a new QB is not a way to be a playoff team next year.

Right, this is just bad business. Spending a pretty high first on a qb, sabotaging him year 2 after a promising rookie year and then trying to trade him for what’s probably way less than the #15 pick you used. Bill you effed him up year 2 you need to get over the kid reaching out for help

I doubt that's the actual situation. What you are saying only works if Bill is an insecure person, and 20+ years of evidence show that not to be true. The undermining issue can be resolved with a one-on-one conversation, not by trading away a major asset. That'd be throwing away the baby with the bath water.

The only justification I could see is if Bill really feels Mac's talent plateaus at the Derek Carr / Andy Dalton level or less, and feels he needs someone far better, and feels he can get enough draft capital to acquire that far better player via trade.

I really doubt all of that is the case.

Thus I really think this is all media horseshit.
