Peyton Manning in Cold Weather games

Look, I love the idea of putting Peyton on his @ss all night, what i am asking is whether they would benefit more by adding coverage and going 3-4. getting rid of the ball quickly almost seems to work in his favor, and his arm strength is so questionable that throwing it later into heavier coverage might well work against him. He's great at fast hitting plays but there is still a question as to how well he beats you after his early options disappear. It is counterintuitive but may work better than trying to sacrifice coverage to get him to do something he loves doing, which is to throw it immediately.

Sounds like the Seahawks would be a nightmare matchup for the Forehead.

Devin McCourty has been switched out from safety to cornerback many times before, and at least 2x this season that I can remember.

Most recently vs the N.Orleans Saints high powered passing attack, and I also believe it was used in another game right around that same timeframe, possibly vs either the NYJ or MIA:

Nick Underhill also ponders the same question regarding sliding McCourty to and from CB/S again in his recent article, stating that "This could also be a week where Devin McCourty takes some snaps at cornerback."

I doubt he alternates to CB for tomorrow. BB like to stick in sub D against Manning most of the time (nickel/dime). The activation of Green to game roster makes it more likely that McCourty stays on the top.

Despite having practiced this week, I would not be surprised to see Dennard inactive for tomorrow (taking Leon's spot on the inactive). Either way, I feel strongly that we will see one surprise inactive for tomorrow.

Personally, I'm not expecting Dennard to be cleared for live game setting contact myself, despite practicing this week on a limited basis.

I think there will be a difference between the two games. The Pats' front four on Monday night played a lot of contain. They didn't rush Newton all that much early because they feared what he could do if they let him get out of the pocket (and we saw they were right).

The Colts, Chargers, and Redskins had a lot of success (at least for long stretches) putting pressure on Manning. I expect to see the Pats trying to go after Manning more. I also expect to see Chandler Jones lining up inside a lot to give pressure up the middle.

I agree about the way they played against Cam. BB is big on the contain against QB's who can beat him outside the pocket but even against non mobile QB's i've maybe seen 3 plays this year where the rush got the QB immediately pretty much ruining the play from the get. They're going to have to have a couple of those in some big 3rd downs tomorrow. Can't rely on coverage sacks against peyton.
