Did you guys hear the announcers of a game a few weeks ago call Manning a LIVING LEGEND?

A legendary DOORKNOB perhaps!

Well, he is a first ballot HoF'er. I hate him but he is an elite QB.

Favre, Peyton, and Brady are all "living legends" because they are guys who will be guaranteed to make the Hall of Fame on their first try but are still playing.

If there is a advertising HOF, he is destined to go there as well, on sheer volume of commercials. Does this guy ever say no to a product? I mean, come on some of these are really a reach. Oreo licking contest??????? He might have a career after football as a comedic actor like Bradshaw, OJ and Karras......

What about a commercial about viagra? You know Peyton wants to.

Why'd you delete the A+ grade, I smiled out loud at the simplistic genius of the post!! Seriously??

After Palmiero, I bet Viagra wants to stay away from any athletic spokespersons.....

Peyton's performance is not really that impressive.

After watching last Sun game, I'm convinced that he is hardly a living legend after 3 interceptions ( 2 nearly caught in first halft Q and 1 caught). Does this guy know how to throw the ball as a SECOND TOP QB in NFL.?

His only good years were 03 and 04. His performance has been 'down' while our Tom is getting better.

Especially in '05 you could see the downward spiral.... :D

didn't want to be too much of a d!ck;)

He is one hell of a regular-season QB.

Funny how a living legend can have a .500 playoff record, despite the fact that you can only have one postseason loss but as many as 4 postseason victories in any given year.

I'll grant them the fact that he's one of the top 10 QB's to ever play the game. But when Favre and Brady are both still in the game (and still in the playoffs, for that matter) it's hard to give a 'living legend' status to the third best QB in the league.

Unless, of course, he does another 5 commercials, making him the face of modern advertising and the most commercialized athlete ever at the tender age of 32. That boy knows how to sell himself, I'll give him that.

(and I'm just kidding about that 5 commercials thing...it might take closer to 8 more to break the record :D ).

You are wrong and denigrating Manning shows how little you know. Take off
your homer hat and take a long look at one of the better QB's to ever play the
game of football.

I would characterize him as a living advertisement....

Yes, i don't need to use X-Ray to see that. It looks like he is getting old or something.

I think that his performance needs to be REVALUATED because his performance is not the same. Our Tom is the BEST ever.

Living legend is a really stupid term for anyone really, imho.

The Manning hatred on this board is overflowing. In case you hadn't noticed, Brady is starting to enter the ad world just a bit, as well.

I consider Marino a legendary QB, and his post-season woes are well known. At least Manning has a Superbowl.

It speaks to the success of the Patriots organization that this is now seen as a small accomplishment, but no Pats fan would have thought that 10 years ago, and very few fans around the league see it that way.

young Manning is still alive and kicking while old Manning is wondering how he is going to spend his time in the next 6 months.

Hate is a strong word and i don't personally hate any person if this person does not do anything to me.

When I look at a QB, i look at his performance in the past few years to see if the guy has been improving every year. With the number of WRs, i expect Peyton to play the same level as Tom does but he has not.

TB is better than PM because of his ONLY performance.

Agreed. Similar to the term 'genius' that gets thrown around all to often when describing coaches. They can break down game film and put together a good plan that takes advantage of strengths and limits weaknesses? Good, so they're a good (or great) coach. Please don't call them geniuses, that's just ridiculous.
