Peter King's one and only 2011 Mock Draft

Worst layout for a mock draft. Ever.

I think Carolina is desperate to have a decent QB.

This mock is more like what I think will happen, than King's, who seems more interested in taking a stand in what he thinks teams should do.

Robert's 2011 Mock Draft (Updated 4/16/11) - Forums

I think the Patriots are viewing this year as a replay of Seymour, Light in 2000.

But the order will be reversed. Castonzo at 17 and Wilkerson at 28, like I've written before. No reason to trade away that second first-round pick if talent like Wilkerson's is available.

A big if, I know.

The play-off game last year showed a couple of worrisome things: 1) interior of both lines being depleted by lack of depth or talent at the game's end; and, 2) Belichick getting out-coached by the Pot Belly.

Both should be corrected.

I realize that. But I stick to my contention that there are are 3 guards that I would take before Pouncey. Pouncey reminds me of a lesser Damien Woody when he came out of BC. He will do fine in a pure zone blocking O line, and might have a long career. I want a more aggressive guard, and I don't believe that I need to spend pick # 17 in the draft to get him. JMO.

He's also similar to Woody in that neither one of them could consistently shotgun snap and had to be moved to guard. I have no idea why some sites insist on ranking Pouncey as a center.

I got a headache just trying to find the picks.

Would be kind of cool having Solder, (6-9, 315) opposite Vollmer (6-8 315). Guy like Woodhead could get lost behind them. In a good way.

I think that like Vollmer, Solder can play on either side of the line and would really give the Pats a pair of massive, athletic tackles. He fits the BB mold perfectly.

One of the voices is telling me that those two could make a 5 yard wedge on kickoff returns. It might sound like a crazy idea, but it's a heckuva lot saner than what some of the other voices are telling me to do.

You should strive to be smart as a box of rocks, then you'd have not clicked the link and instead enjoyed reading all the people complaining about Peter King.

I will remember that the next time. I have strived a long time to be as smart as box of rocks and have not achieved that evidently.

I love his Monday Mornig QB column. Other than that, no more clicking here.

My blessings, I name you pebble in training! :rocker:
