It's easy, and only takes a few moments. You guys can't be serious Fields is the Guy we want IF Chicago decides to move on.Lance is interesting because he has a cannon for an arm, ultra athletic and st 6"4 is a big QB. He got injured and when he came back it just didn't happen for him. I still believe Lance, like Mac is salvageable he is too athletic and talented not too. Mac definitely is worth a low 3rd, high 4th rounder.
Lance is Mac with an arm but the same ten cent head pass. Both pass the eyeballs test but just can't play pass.I’d swap Mac for Lance. In a heartbeat. Wouldn’t you?
I don’t know if Lance can think on his feet and read defenses, but we all thought Mac could. What we’ve seen is that the only proof is on 5he field performance, and we now know what that’s been for 3 years of Corky.
I know everyone hates Breer and I am sure we will get a picture of his mugshot for some reason but he singles out a specific play the coaches got pissed about. Seems to me the spin control PR machine is being fired up in the coaching offices.
I have to eat crow. @Triumph is my daddy. Triumph was right.
I put him on ignore long ago but I’ll always remember him arguing that Devin McCourty wasn’t a starting caliber safety…throughout his entire career. Please don't do this. Triumph doesn't know quarterback play from his sister's rusty shotgun. He blindly stumbled into being "right" about Mac after deciding two years ago he disliked the kid on a personal level -- "Mac Jones is not my quarterback." Part of this owes to Mac supplanting his hero, Cam Newton.
He’s a Zappe lover and gets all triggered when his boy is called a smurf lolololol. Please don't do this. Triumph doesn't know quarterback play from his sister's rusty shotgun. Yes Mac is incredibly disappointing. But…what the hell are the coaches doing leaking this information outside the locker room. More evidence that Bill no longer runs a tight ship.
Maybe they’re hoping one of the friends he asks for advice will see it and tell him the stuff he won’t listen to them about…Or maybe they actually want it known about him...?
My man... I don't think that is accurate on Lance.. we don't have enough on him yet. He played what 4 games and then had a serious ankle injury. I think he is talented.. however I'd be happy with fields too don't get me wrong.Lance is Mac with an arm but the same ten cent head pass. Both pass the eyeballs test but just can't play pass.
Never trust Alabama QBs to begin with and then the warning signs were all there with Corky. His NFL career will go the way of Mark Sanchez.Sorry late to the show. Good thread. Yes, you are right that Breer is an asshat, but in this case I agree that he is right. Someone posted in response to one of my comments that Mac can read the defense pre-snap, but can't read the defense post-snap or go through his reads.
Breer gives a solid example. Good for him, it might be the first time ever for him. I would add that Mac said in his last press conference that the idea was to taget the Washington rookie Forbes which Mac did. Even though Forbes was good, Mac kept throwing at Forbes. What people might be missing, and which supports Breer, is that Mac is staring down matchups like the guy Forbes is covering, instead of making the Forbes matchup his first read, and then progressing on after the Forbes read is blanketed. It is OK for coaching to say that the Forbes has been bad so target him, but that does not mean to repeatedly throw at Forbes when he is having a good game. And the fact that Mac tried to avoid accountability by blaming the "target Forbes coaching advice" is very weak.
At this point it appears as though Mac is very limited post-snap. He can not scramble well and can not read the defense well. Mac looks like a bust. I am surprised that BB and BOB seemed sold on Mac and now Mac looks awful. On the All22 film WRs are open, Mac is looking down, scrambling for no reason, and not progressing past his first read.
I have to eat crow. @Triumph is my daddy. Triumph was right. Mac can not read the defense post snap. How much longer do you wait after 2.5 years? BB and BOB must have choked too - otherwise why would they have supported Mac? In practice Mac looks good, but in the game he chokes.
In the Celtics thread I note that Payton Pritchard is the same. Great practice guy, great game choker.
Running QBs struggle to stay in the pocket.Oh, and those asking for Kyler Murray or Justin Fields - if those guys were the answer, do you think their teams would be looking to move on from them?
Fields ability to read a defense is on par with the ability of a 4 year old being able to understand Quantum Theory. Kid is a gimmick QB, and will never be anything else.
Murray's just done.
Blindly stumbled? He blindly stumbled into being "right" about Mac
Seems like an odd thing to do if they want to trade him somewhere.Or maybe they actually want it known about him...?
Blindly stumbled?
Anyone who simply watched Mac jog onto the field could easily discern this guy's extreme physical limitations.
Maybe the pom poms so many vigorously waved obstructed their view on the reality at hand.
Scouts who labeled Mac as a "low ceiling" sure as hell knew what they were talking about. (Kraft should hire one of them)
The Patriots seeking out 50/50 pass catching specialists after one year should have tipped off even the most ardent Corky fans.
And three years in, still no visible sign this guy has developed a single physical attribute that might help elevate a pro-offense.
Mac may go down as the most physically limited QB ever drafted in the top half of the 1st round.
On top of that, the guy's mechanics are brutal, his decision making is sketchy, and he possesses no identifiable leadership qualities.
Three years in we keep hearing Mac say "I need to clean that up" after another sub par game and yet his mess is only expanding.
Another huge swing and miss by BB & Co to go along with bust N'Keal Harry.
Note: Boney T has joined Bill's bust ensemble, though, like Mac, the pom pom wavers are not yet ready to admit this publicly. They will.
And sadly, these epic top-of-the-draft whiffs, along with years of complete draft incompetence, have set this organization back years.
Note: My personal observations of Mac during his rookie season were...
1) He runs like he has a stick up his ass
2) Physically, he looks like the prepubescent 3rd string QB who holds the clipboard on the Freshman football team sideline
3) He should consider playing 2nd team mixed doubles in a church league.
