Pay the money and go to the games

I want to know one thing..

Patriots fans who attend the games say the stadium is not made for noise so complaining about cheering is dumb because the stadium is not built that way

But now people are saying the boos are loud enough to cause discussion? - If cheering is not loud because of the stadium then how can the boos be?

not a bad point; i agree with you

To play devils advocated I believe they are preaching about the morals of booing rather then how loud it gets, but I don't care either way, people can do what they want

It's a stupid point. Nobody said anything about the boos being "too loud." You can hear the fans cheering on t.v., but some feel that either they or the stadium aren't loud enough. Now they boo the team and you can hear it. There's no contradiction or connection between those two things except to further illustrate how shitty some fans are that won't stand up and cheer, but they'll stand up and boo at the drop of a hat.

The cheering is not loud because not enough people cheer. Thats a fact. Go to a game and see the empty seats in the red section....folks are too busy bellying up to the bar and talking politics while munching on Chicken fingers....I 'dunno - but a lot of 'em aren't sitting in their seats.

I think the anti-boo contingent are p-o'ed because they find it "classless" to boo - I suppose a loud boo would just drive them to homicide.

Yes people can..it has MORE to do with what it shows..as a "fan"..

The CAPITAL words you use are very funny. We disagree on booing the home team. Unlike you, I don't call the people I disagree with names.

It would be great if you could answer the questions I asked you.

1). Have you ever been to a Pats home game?
2). Do you live in New England?
3). Do you know how much a face value ticket costs to a Pats game?
BTW 1---yes 2---yes 3-yes... NOW answer mine....OK????
1) How does booing the team you are a fan of support the team??
2) Explain the difference between a Miami fan at Gillette booing the team and a Patriots fan? (Besides the obvious..)
3) Do you think BECAUSE one is paying a lot of money for tickets that they should not be criticized by others that are not? If you DO believe that..then do you also believe that those that are paying MORE (boxes) than reg season tickets should never be criticized by them?
4) What is this special perspective that is ONLY available at teh stadium and missed if watching on TV?

You'll have to excuse Pats726 Gainzo -

Because while he's riding you to answer his questions he seems intent on avoiding a question on other related threads to confirm that he'd never boo the team whether they gave 75%, 50% 25% or 0% effort...

It's all about cheering for the laundry, regardless of whether they give 100% or not

He doesn't want to admit that, which is why he decided to re-hash a thread from Friday evening at 6pm rather than address those questions

Frankly..I could CARE less if he bothers to answer..if he wishes to not tell teh truth about what I said..that is fine.. as to the other questions..I find it interesting..if he doesn't so be it..
And you KNOW they are not giving 100% effort because??? Because they got blown out doesn't mean they didn't try at all...I think this was already discussed no??
No...I would not boo the team..I have a bit more class, knowledge, perspective and heart to do that. I have an attention span that is longer than a few hours and do not react like many do with boos. Some people actually support their team ALL the time. ANd that doesn't mean at all that they are happy with what happens on the field or did not think they might have done better or that they would not be critical....Booing NEVER supports a team.

OK - thanks for being consisten... you're cheering the laundry, whether they only give 50%, 10% or boycott the game and sit on the bench.

You'd never boo in any of those situations.

That puts you into a pretty extreme group of cult like fans, but that's OK... I just hope you can learn to accept the fact that other fans do in fact expect 100% effort - as you can see from a great many fans posting here, there are quite a few fans who think that an 18-0 pro-bowl defense playing lethargically getting wiped all over the field by a 1-17 team does indicate less than 100%.

We'd all better HOPE that wasn't 100% effort in any event.

I'm not quite sure why you need 100% proof that the Patriots poor play was a lack of effort. I'm not quite sure what you'd accept as "proof" - but of course, that wasn't the question... just a simple question about whether you'd cheer players for giving 50% effort or so

It took awhile, but you finally answered. Thanks.

Cross-posting this from another thread because I want you to see it Pats726, you're a good poster:

The Kansas City crowd today watched their team take the lead in a game absolutely no one thought they could win. The team did this through a pure, physical effort by every player on the field. At the end of the first half they were winning by 2 points and called two short runs rather than try to score more.

They got booed by their home crowd.

So is every KC fan that booed a terrible hopeless vile bandwagon scumbag? Or is it only wrong to boo if you have a winning streak? Could it be possible that booing doesn't always mean "I hate you and you suck"?

Yes - apparently KC fans should be cheering for mediocrity.

Voicing their opinion that they favor a bold and agressive gameplan is strictly verbodden by "good" fans who know that there has never been a positive outcome in the history of football to letting a team know that mediocrity is not acceptable.

Jets fans and other fans who have booed mediocre teams who have underachieved fail to understand this too.

Football players are very sensitive, you see, and none of them respond well to fans letting them know that they don't feel mediocrity is acceptable.

Any fan inclined to boo less than 100% effort would be better off keeping quiet and sending motivational posters and a book of affirmations to the locker room after a disappointing game.

My personal suggestion in lieu of booing? The proven motivator "Hang in there Baby!" Kitty poster... yep, God forbid anyone boo.

I sold my tix back in June but they are still in my name. Pay cut for me and a huge increase in prices took me down that road.

Pity the poor soul that bought them.
