I hope this is killing Shula...Literally.
I'm glad you brought up Shula [/ranton]
I thought Manning was the king of 'one and dones' in the playoffs, losing his first playoff game nine different years. Guess what,he must have learned that from Shula who as a coach went 'one and done' nine different times, with guys like Unitas and Marino as his QB....
For comparison sake
coach.......................................Shula....................Belichick
number of 'one and done'........9 ............................2 (Ravens ,Jets 09,10)
number of ' 1-1 in playoff".......4.............................5
number of '2-1 in playoff.........3.............................4
number of "3-0" CHAMP.......2.............................5
number of "3-1" in playoff.......1...............................0
playoff record......................19-17..........................28-11

Belichick's record includes Cleveland and Shula's includes Baltimore ( where he lost SB3 to the Jets). Shula's break came when he got his first head coaching gig at age 33 which allowed him the longevity to win all those games.

Even better news is that at the end of last season, Belichick passed Shula for best overall winning percentage in the regular season. Shula was 328-156 for a .677. Belichick is now 255-120 for a .680. Throw in the post season and Belichick winning percentage goes up to .683 based on a 28-11 record ( .718 winning percentage) while Shula's declines to .667 based on his pedestrian 19-17 record which is a .527 winning percentage...

this is incredible for us OLD FANS...:)

when i started to like the Pats not any Super Bowl 'HOPE'

and now...still incredible...what a run...

Green Bay is the 290th largest city in the US.

Yes. Green Bay is sort of a living archaeological site, the last surviving town from the era when professional football began. The Akron, Muncie, Providence, Canton, Toledo, and Racine teams, among others, have long since faded into history.

Green Bay is such an oddity in pro sports. In addition to the history and small size, that part of the US is made unnaturally dense by their presence. The Detroit-Chicago-Minneapolis triangle is fine, but made really odd by the presence of GB.

3 more 12-4 seasons in a row would get the Pats up to #2. (0.570)
4 more 12-4 seasons in a row would get the Pats up to #1. (0.573)

This assumes that the other team's percentages stay unchanged.
Packers and Bears have been around forever, lots more games played
