They're competing for the same jersey number but that's about all I see as far as similarities go.

Some of us use the convenience of listing positions.

So, for me, we have 3 locks: Hightower, Van Noy and Harris.

Roberts was on the bubble before. I think that he is even more vulnerable now. Roberts is not the top special teamer that McClellan or Freeny is. So, IF Roberts was making it before as the last linebacker, it is quite possible that he will now not have roster spot.

And yes, the effect is that Harris would take the roster spot that Roberts was going to take.

I expect Harris to be on the team for the next two years. However, if he doesn't look good in camp, Belichick will cut him. After all, we have Rivers, Ninkovich, Van Noy, McClellan, Freeny, Bates and Langi.

With an elite secondary and a stout DL, BB probably just wants a second LBer that will "do his job." Ya know, not fall down & let Freeman go for a 50 yard gain (still have hope for you Roberts). The Broncos had a historic defense & an elite one with LB as their weakest position. Hightower-Harris could still be pretty good too.

This team on paper is the 2007 offense with the 2003 defense it really is absurd. Come sooner training camp!

Thats more gtd than Burkhead. Surprising, but looks like a lock for 2017 barring serious physical problem. Not the best news for McClellin, Van Noy and Freeny..
