Leverage for Vollmer then.

There doesn't seem to be much of a market for Vollmer or any of the RT's for that matter. Long got 4/36 and he has proven to be one of the elite LT in the NFL and he is younger than Vollmer.

I also disagree with the fact that Vollmer could play LT at a high level as well, he played a few games earlier in his career and other than that he played RT throughout his career. He is a $4-4.5 a year tackle. Winston received 4/22 last and he was the same age as Vollmer then, was considered the best RT in the game and hadn't missed a game since 2006 his rookie season.

Bedard wrote that he thinks teams believe Winston doesn't have much left in the tank. If that's the case, we might be rolling with Senor Cannon at RT.

He is 29 with limited injuries in his career. Vollmer is 28 with a chronic back. The only reason the Chiefs cut him is because they intend to take a LT #1 start them out at RT season 1 and then switch him and Albert season 2.

Although there is no question about the nature of his injuries, but the fact is that aside from the 10 games he missed in 2011, he's only missed 3 other over the course of his 4 year career (2 his rookie year, and ONE last season.

Not making light of his injury situation, but lets not make more of than it warrants. There are MANY other Patriot players who have missed more games without getting the "can't stay on the field label" Brandon Spikes and Aaron Hernandez immediately come to mind

BTW- Jack, if Volmer's play was so substandard last season, and BB was so high on Cannon, why didn't he pull Volmer for Cannon. You know the answer. It was because Volmer was playing at a higher level than Cannon.

OK? And your point is...?
