Couldn't agree more.
And to see the Niners with a full load of draft picks had such an active and aggressive FA period is just scary how much stronger they will be next year.
I think I missed something here.
Yeah, they traded a 6th for Boldin. They signed Glenn Dorsey, who never lived up to his potential as a top-5 draft pick, to replace Ricky Jean Francois. Got a good kicker too in Phil Dawson, which is probably a big upgrade considering their kicking situation last season.
But they lost their Pro Bowl safety Goldson, who was over-rated in my opinion, but Craig Dahl is hardly an upgrade here. They traded away Alex Smith and don't have a decent back-up at this point. Delanie Walker is gone. While Vernon Davis is the starter and had a better season, Walker actually was the more productive target after Kaepernick took over the starting job while Davis was talking about needing to still get on the same page with Kaepernick.
I'm not saying they got significantly worse, just not sure I'd say they got significantly better either. Unless I missed a few big signings, I just don't understand why you think they had such an active FA. They'll look a lot better after the draft, but right now? Not so much.
