There is a very strong chance Harbaugh and Jackson have not had a conversation longer than 15 seconds since they tried to **** around with his contract a couple years ago.

This week is better than a hat and t-shirt game in that respect. We can get Harbaugh fired.
Yep. There always seems to be contrasting stories with these two.

People are saying he may literally be the worst starter in the league. Whether he is or isn’t, we have to exploit Baltimore’s major weakness on their OL.

Best OL in the league pads down

The media sure asks some stupid ass questions. Of course players want that title.
Obviously, what he most wants is a Super Bowl title. But in terms of recognition from others for his work, the most important thing he can get is being named to Pro Bowl on the first ballot (vs. as a replacement, like last year).

Dolphins have been eliminated, which should make that last game a little easier. It’s their players’ last workday before a months-long vacation. How much energy do you think they’ll have to play hard in New England?
Was gonna say it reminded me of 2021 when they lost the last game against MIA, but that was away, and that makes a gigantic difference.

Spillane in a walking boot usually means that player will miss multiple weeks, bad news.

The more I think about this game the more I believe it’s a bad matchup for NE. Ravens will control the game by running the football. It’ll be tough without Williams and now Spillane.

Our Offense should be able to keep up; and our Defense should make a couple of stops. D Henry is not James Cook who's been an Excellent Runner. Tonga and Barmore and others should be able to contain D Henry.

So to my recollection post Willie Mcginest...

2001 Seymour DE
2002 Jarvis green DE
2003 ty Warren DE

2012 chandler Jones DE

2020 uche was a flash in the pan..

I'm sure there has to be others but I'm drawing a blank trying to figure other edge rushers we drafted during that time frame that made a difference.

We've essentially had to add edge rushers in FA over the years as opposed to drafting them with regularity like a franchise would ideally like.

FA..Colvin, Thomas, Mark Anderson, Andre Carter, judon.. to name a few..
Richard Seymour was at his best as an interior defensive lineman. He was such an incredible force that he he could. Not all DEs are what I would consider an edge rusher like TJ Watt or Matthew judon (who got cut by Miami yesterday. Those small quicker defensive linemen are often exposed by a good running game when you go right at them.

Richard Seymour and Chandler Jones and Ty Warren could handle the run and collapse the pocket. We see that with the current defensive line. They don't get sacks as much as they force the QB off platform and scrambling.

The other thing about the Draft and that particular position is that young players - 20, 21, 22 years old - may be great edge rushers in college but face an entirely different situation at the pro level. Bigger, better OTs and schemes keep edge rushers at bay. It's better to spend the money in free agency for a proven player than to draft an edge rusher. Judon was a great pickup and quickly became the most dangerous pass rusher in 2023.

If a team is drafting in the middle to the bottom in each round, DBs and interior linemen are often more available and effective in their first couple of years.

This game will tell us a lot about this team imo. Will they lose two in a row or will they overcome adversity and beat the Ravens?
Depends on who is able to get on the field defensively. The Patriots had five starters not practicing on Wednesday. At this point in the season, practice is less important for the veteran players on defense. This is a big game, so I expect some guys to make an attempt to play on Sunday night.

He's got something fairly major wrong with his foot. He left the Jets game shaking his foot, wasn't playing, Gibbons had something happen, he came back on the field for a snap or two then out for the rest of the game. Then the bye week, doesn't play and is now in a boot.

Wonder if he has a small fracture.

Agreed. Seymour was fantastic in his own right and then you talk about the players around him when we drafted.. ty law, Ted Johnson, teddy Bruschi, Willie McGinest, Vrabel, Malloy, then green and Warren and Vince came along.. so he had often had one on ones alot..

Definitely you want proven pass rushers but those guys are basically like OTs teams that have them aren't shaking them loose.. those guys are essential to a defense.

Will Anderson, and Danielle Hunter probably the best tandem in the league.. Houston finds house gold with signing Hunter in FA..

Nik bonito and copper another great tandem..

We need to draft and develop those guys so we can strengthen the farm system and continue to use the draft to keep the roster stock piled.

What Vrabel has been able to do with collection of guys on a unfinished roster has been nothing short of amazing.
