Yeah, I could see a scenario where we:

1. Win the next 2 games, clinch division, but don't catch Denver
2. Use week 18 to sit starters.

So this week is very significant in that regard imo.
I'm not worried about the Patriots' character or confidence. That said, they need to win not just for seeding and positioning including the division, but to get back on the winning track.

This game will tell us a lot about this team imo. Will they lose two in a row or will they overcome adversity and beat the Ravens?

Run defense…*alert*

Need Milly & Spilly back. Defense is night & day without these dudes

Is there no possibility that the game doesn't have playoff implications?
PHI should clinch their division this week. They have no chance for a bye.

Maybe they will worry about the seed for their second playoff game or who they are afraid to play, but probably not. Having key players healthy may be far, far more important. No matter their see, they are likely to have to play both SEA and the LAR.

No ****. Welcome to 2025. Nice of you to join us.
Hey I had some life events, looked up, and everybody was standing still for kickoffs and the clock was running after guys went out of bounds. I still don't know why sometimes refs think it's a catch when you get both feet down and sometimes you don't get bupkes until 3 feet (2 feet plus a "football move.") I'm sorry, sh*t used to be simpler.

But to the point, "we don't have any depth" beats the hell of "our first string is like other teams' 2nd string." This isn't the most talented team in the league, but it's got a good claim on doing the most with the talent we have.

This is a big statement game for NE. I’d like to see another win vs a good opponent who’s still fighting for a playoff spot. I’ll feel a lot better about the team if they win this week. They’ll look like paper tigers if they lose to Baltimore and beat the putrid Jets and Dolphins heading into the playoffs.

I really don't care as long as we win the division.

I suppose beating BAL and rooting for PHI makes some kind of sense.

But if the Pats lose to the Ravens we’ll have to listen to and read about how “the Pats haven’t played anybody, they’re frauds, blah, blah, blah . . .”

Meanwhile, no one anticipated that they would play this well.

I’d be pretty damn satisfied with 13-4 and a division title.

Game weirdly doesn't matter a ton for playoff scenarios purposes, but I'd really like to see us come with something to prove. Come hitting hard like we did vs Giants.

Run defense rebound in a big way.
The Bills have three very, very winnable games left - Browns, Eagles, Jets. The Patriots have to win out to win the division and need help getting the top seed. The Bills can taste it with Mahomes out of the picture.

I love how this thread's turned into: "We don't have any depth"

Agreed.. if Hunter and or Anderson is out from Houston thier defense is impacted

If bonnitto or Cooper is out for Denver
Same difference. No NFL team has great depth beyond the starting level players..

Personally I believe if the bills see Denver in the postseason Denver will get them.. Allen is phenomenal but teams like Denver and Houston have the horses to contain an offense like Buffalo..

You beat Geat Offensive Teams or Players with Defense. We remember that Almost Perfect Season against that Giants Team with Strahan and others. We remember how our High powered Offense feared with Brady constantly on his @ss. We could even go as far back as that BB Defense with Seymour beating that Greatest Show on Turf Rams Offense. The moral is story: Great Defenses Always Trumps Great Offenses.
