Pats / Raiders TV reschedule? Why not?

Correct me if I'm wrong at any point here, I don't take a look at these situations much.

Pats play vs Miami 1:00 PM EST

Oakland plays vs Broncos 4:25 PM EST

Why not move the Pats game up to 4:24 PM EST

If the Pat's lose, what is stopping the Broncos from playing a lame game to stick it to the Pats. They would love to do so.

In the past, the NFL has rescheduled games so that they play at the same time, so both teams cannot sit players, or not play a hard game because everything has been decided already. Is seeding for Oakland a factor?

I forget when, but recently, the last year or two, the patriots, and maybe Denver were rescheduled so that that this could not take place. They wanted both teams playing hard. What's the difference here?

Am I misunderstanding the situation, or does the NFL going after the Pats again?

I think Denver mails it in either way but, I agree. Odd they didn't do that this season, benefits the NFL to try to keep teams playing for something.

If the donkeys or ratbirds had won their game last week they would have moved the Pats/fishies game to 4:25. Personally I'm happy we got the 1 pm start. It's the main game of the early CBS games.

If a playoff spot is involved, they do. It's just a seeding, they don't.

If the donkeys or ratbirds had won their game last week they would have moved the Pats/fishies game to 4:25. Personally I'm happy we got the 1 pm start. It's the main game of the early CBS games.

I don't care about the early start, there is an advantage to starting later.

Oakland still has to win to get the AFC West, and they play at the same time as KC. The outcome of our game has the bonus of 1st seed should we lose, but I am guessing it wasn't the biggest deal.

Also, the conspiracy theorist in me says a 4pm game would cool down around halftime, and that would help the Pats in their dark uniforms. So the NFL kept it at 1pm as a final FU to the Pats during the regular season.

Fixed your post for you, so that the inanity of your question becomes more obvious to you.

Legitimately, the schedules were devised with the assumption being that DIVISION races would still be in play at week 17, and not 1-2, 5-6 seedings. So that accounts for the original plan.

Also legitimately, if they moved the NE-fish game later, what would the early-slot AFC broadcaster be left with: chopped liver. A bunch of games nobody wants to watch and all the good games at same time later. If the league even truly considered it, I'm sure the broadcaster threw a fit.

But at the end of the day, ex-jesters wanna see BB leave TB in against the dirtiest DL-man in the league as long as possible; absolutely no chance they (a bunch of ex jester employees) would do something that might even in a small way help the pats.

Given their history, they would probably love to stick it to the Raiders more than to the Pats.

The reason why the Pats stayed at 1 is the Raiders do not derive any additional benefit from knowing the outcome of the Patriots game. The Raiders are going to go all-out no matter what happens in Miami because they are more concerned with KC. It's not like the Raiders can say "the Patriots won so let's rest all our starters."

No, we won't know the precise seeding until the Pats win, and if they lose it will then not be known until the Raiders/Denver game is over.

Another douchable move by goodell* not to put Pats on doubleheader here in NY. Not that its an important game or anything with any kind of seeding implications. I'll wait for SB for Prime Time when Pats/Brady get number 5 for middle finger and TB's MVP Trophy.

As much as I detest 345 Park Avenue, I don't see a conspiracy with the scheduling.

It makes sense to have the Raiders and Chiefs playing at the same time. The winner is AFC West champion and gets a bye. The loser has to go on the road in the post-season.

You can't have every game at the same time. Put the AFC West on late, which makes sense with time zones. Put the two AFC East playoff teams on early.

If you put the NE-Miami on late then the CBS early time slot is a disaster. There are only three AFC/CBS games of importance on Sunday. You need to have at least one in each time slot.

There's really very few important games Sunday beyond the one that NBC grabbed (Det-GB). Of the 15 FOX-CBS games, the only one where a team is fighting for their lives (and not just seeding) is Washington.

Yeah I know all about it. Jets are on CBS & Giants are on Fox here in NY. Your missing my point, I'm talking about putting on a double header especially when these games are important for playoff seeding implications. If Jets are playing at 1 pm on CBS then put Pats on Fox At 1 pm.

They put Giants on FOX at 4pm AND Cowboys/Eagles on CBS at 4pm here. Cowboys/Eagles?! Cowboys clinched and Eagles are in last place. Its BS! goodell* pumping JJones and Pats gettin dissed. It'sa S'Bag move.
