Pats league-worst this decade in drafted receiver receptions, yards, TDs

They should just pretend the WR doesn't exist and hire someone else to strictly scout WRs. It's the perfect Cam-Stidham analogy. Yea, a new WR scout may suck but anything different than what they have now is an improvement

Better WRs would hardly matter with Cam.

15 batted balls to date and he has been blitzed at least 130 times. You see his wild throws in the dirt every game.

Maybe BB knows the WR corps is dogshit and wants to set up Stid with an improved set of WRs and TEs this offseason and a real training camp which is why he's just letting Cam play the season out

apparently the only WR's they can draft are ex-QB's. Edelman & Meyers are the only decent draftees since Branch.
But I'm holding out hope for Gunner - so I guess it's all about other position guys who convert to WR.

Pats league worst in drafted WR receptions in decade...........and yet number one in Super Bowls!!!!

Maybe this is the way to go

Yeah I still think Bill is the best GM/coach all things considered. But that's not the point. Point is maybe we win even more if they fixed it. Recognize that the WR and CB methods to pick 2nd round guys totally sucks and destroy whatever McDaniels came up with before. It definitely does not work.

I’d like to see a list of FA’s WR’s that “we” signed that contributed greatly to winning seasons. I’m sure their are some but it doesn’t make up for drafting badly...consistently. Bill makes the final decision on all draft choices...but somehow he needs to be presented with better draft choices.
What are you talking about? During that period we won more than anyone. We had a prolific passing offense. Those things clearly “make up for” 6th and 7th round picks not working out.
I mean how would you like to make up for rarely drafting receivers and having mostly late round picks not develop? Could it be by winning anyway? Oh yeah.

6 Championships because of Tom Brady.
Well they were drafting (or not drafting) WRs based upon Brady being there. So since they and he have the greatest results EVER I have to give the plan an A+

Andy, what are YOU talking about? At no point did I mention anything about the Patriots unbelievable success. I'm wondering what a list of FA signings looks like compared to drafted players in the past 20 years at WR. Stop being a weirdo.

How does winning not make up for someone believing he drafted poorly. Dint you draft to win?

I don't know. I feel to a degree like this is our version of a "A FEW GOOD MEN" and BB is Jack Nicholson and if he were on this board reading it he'd be thinking.............

"I've taken a franchise that has had a history of losing and given you 20 years of unprecedented excellence including 6 championships and you (Lt Caffey), someone who has never seen any real combat (football team experience) take extreme pleasure in this success and yet has the audacity to question the manner in which I provide it?!?!?!?! I'd prefer you'd just say 'thank you' and move on your way"

I'm less bothered by it due to the balance of finding random Pro Bowl talent in 6/7 rounds plus undrafted guys. I'm so impressed with Onwenu. In totality it's still excellent. Just need some self awareness to duct tape whatever McDaniels says or do the exact opposite in terms of draft decisions.

This is not just a WR thing, had BB made better personnel decisions from 2005-2008, they get 6 in the first ten years alone.

Had it not been for the 2010-2012 drafts (Reese), then getting late returns with 2009 (Reese), they very well could've been sitting at 3 rings since 2004.

Unfortunately, the one individual most responsible for his commander's success - the dead-eye Sniper - requested and was given permission to transfer to another unit...

Agree. If not for a certain OC here ruining our draft picks coincidentally exactly from 05-08 and 2012-present. and Whereas the periods in between we drafted guys like Deion Branch, David Givens, Gronk, Hernandez, and Edelman. Hmm.....
