Pats front office at the deadline

Didn’t we just give Dugger the most $’s we evah paid a safety and now, just 8 games into the contract, we’re looking to trade him after our “second” best safety gets arrested and suspended?! Anyone else have concerns with our new front office??
I would hesitate to criticize anyone over trade rumors. Who knows where it came from.

Trading Dugger would be fantastic getting out of that atrocious contract I called back in the spring. He’s not a headlining player and is more effective with better players doing most of the work. I just would be shocked anyone taking on that contract.

Getting rid of Godsmack and Bourne would be nice too.

You’re correc, shouldn’t believe everything we read. I’ll just wait for further clarification from the frint office insuring the player we’d never made him available…..

This is what I was hoping the Patriots would foster.
Couldn't agree more. Maybe next year free agents will say the same about Patriots and wanting to play with Maye. This is why we need to showcase him this year as long as we can keep him healthy. If he is running for his life, then we need to sit him till the O-line is sorted out.

Not a great contract for Dugger, I have to agree. He’s great to have as a “playmaker” when a real safety like McCourty is taking care of business behind him, but you can’t really rely on him fully as the solo act. Not worth that price tag.

Godchaux is worth keeping while Barmore is still out but not otherwise, they basically got stuck once Barmore’s medical issue came up. Can’t fully blame them for that one. He’s been a decent locker room guy at least.

Bourne looks like ****. I don’t know what is up with that. He should be healthy by now and have the rust knocked off. I’d trade him, as much as I personally like him. His value is going down.

He was at his best when he was the 3rd S with McCourty playing center field and Phillips at SS. Dugger is basically a box S and better when has to cover less ground. When both S's departed, he got exposed taking on more responsibilities.

They still didn't have to pay him, he had zero leverage.

It was idiotic singing a mediocre player immediately in FA while he was recovering from an injury. Mind boggling.

It is all in hindsight.

We have become the pariah of NFL. Nobody wanted to sign with us. Eventually you need 53 players on field . Can't have PS squad for all. So cannot fault front office for these contracts.

Having a bit of a hard time with this one.....if we won today's game, we would have had the same record as the jete. All I was hearing was how with this win, the jetes absolutely had a chance to be in the playoffs and all looks good. Nothing about whether or not we could do it, but somehow a known dysfunctional commodity could...this our typical jete ball washing/deep throating that goes on, or am I missing something about their record?

Don’t see the value trading veterans on multi year contracts for 5th and 6th round picks and taking on their dead money. It does nothing for our cap and does nothing in improving the team as most later picks amount to nothing. Feels like you’re better served to let them run out their contract and feed into the compensatory calculations when they walk.

If anything you just want the front office to show they have some kind of vision . You signed these guys to expensive multi year deals based on a 3 - 4 year body of work on each. Clearly they were part of your future plan. Then you decide to ship them out based on a handful of games and the team doing exactly what you as a front office set them up to do and that is suck hard. If they trade any of these guys id hope they are drilled with questions about what their plan was with them and why they deviated.

I’m not only excited about the #1 overall pick, but I would want them to hit on #33. In fact, I hope they trade away the #1 pick and pick three times between 1 & 33. And grab another for 2025.
That's going to be hard, because as of today no team has two first-round picks.

I hope the Humphries thing is real and he’s getting back to playable shape.
I get so caught up in wanting the team to win I tend to forget they are a rebuilding team with a 32nd ranked roster.

Take a good look at Washington. That's a team that wants to win now and they were worse than us last year. What did they do that we did not and we did we do that they did not?

Is there anyone worthy of the top pick

"Dugger is not very good..." the latest terrible take from Patsfans.com forums.

Guys, we don't have enough good players, let's not demean and trade away the only ones we do have.

Once they're gone Wolf won't be able to find anymore, unless they're available in the top five of the first round... and even then we can't be sure.
