Pats front office at the deadline

They had plenty of time to make moves during the off-season and did absolutely nothing aside from Ridley and Aiyuk. Both WR's did the Pats a favor.

Assuming Mayo and Wolf survive, they need to aggressively pursue FA's to improve the OL and find another impact player in the draft on offense or defense. Maye looks like he could be the first.

I’m not only excited about the #1 overall pick, but I would want them to hit on #33. In fact, I hope they trade away the #1 pick and pick three times between 1 & 33. And grab another for 2025.

Chess vs checkers. They are waiting until the teams that trade for players waive their 53rd best player so we can claim them off waivers.

They aren't getting the 1st overall. That will be all for the Panthers now that Young is starting again.

Its a race to the bottom. I have faith the Pats will prevail.

Do you mean hire a rookie head coach with no credentials so the Pats will come up a little short? Tanking without tanking?

They don’t have to tank, the best they can do might be the worst in the league.

Teams with genuine super bowl aspirations are buyers, not sellers.

Teams with losing records are sellers, not buyers.

It makes no sense whatsoever for the Patriots to trade for a short-term veteran in these circumstances.

What does make sense would be for the Patriots to trade a veteran or two on an expiring contract for draft picks, even if it does hurt the team in 2024.

With Aiyuk going down, I fully expect the 49ers to want to go after Bourne. I think it would be a mistake to trade him unless the 49ers over-pay with something like a 3rd round pick.

The Pats are out of the playoffs. They shouldn’t be buyers at the trade deadline. They should be trading players like Thornton and Osborn for whatever they can get. If they get the right offer for several of the veterans like Bourne, they should be considering that.

The last thing they should be doing is trying to acquire players at trade deadline. It is a waste of draft capital.

As far as I'm concerned, everyone but Maye, Barmore, White, Gonzalez and Marcus Jones are on the block.
