Pats claim WR Michael Floyd

So just had an office discussion on the game this weekend, I live in Denver. The Broncos fans are actually a little worried about Floyd possibly playing. Im starting to think he will but think about this, all the Pats have to do is have him learn 5-6 plays and that alone will make the Denver secondary pay attention to him, regardless if the ball goes his way or not and if they don't.......

I am of the opinion that maybe his struggles this year are not just him, Palmer is awful, even Brown for AZ isnt having the same year as last.

Every time a player gets out of franchise with all signs of dysfunctionality and fans start to point out his flaws I don't take that into consideration. Palmer has been awful and Arians too.

Floyd will have a totally different scenario in NE, it's up to him now.

Palmer has been sacked 37 times already. Someone mentioned john brown having a down year as well. One of the most dissapointing teams this season.

The problem is that it was a mistake that could have cost somebody there life and that is unforgivable. A very selfish and inconsiderate decision. He is fortunate that he is not doing any jail time. Drink drivers are very very dangerous to public safety.

Him being addicted to it is HIS problem. Nobody held a gun to his head and said drink it. Alcohol is poison and should be avoided at all costs. I have seen it destroy families and that is why I never have and never will drink it. Damaging your body and paying for it at the same time lol how intelligent, not to mention how vulnerable you are when you are drunk. I hate this signing. We had big vince leave pulling people from car wrecks and now we got this punk passed out drunk on the intersection with the engine running being a huge threat to public safety... absolute madness. The cops should gave got him out of the car and beat his ass for being an ass or I hope they did.

But nobody did lose their life. Ever rummage for your phone or worse talked/texted on your phone while driving, fiddle with the radio knob, look too long at GPS, stare at some eye candy too long etc? Unless you are a Google self driving car come here to post you have done something in your car that you purposefully did that could have cost someone their life. Fortunately it didn't and that is a distinction that is absurd to to so casually dismiss.

By the time one has reached 40 they have more likely than not driven after consuming alcohol, smoked some pot, taken prescription medicine, talk/texted, been far too tired to be driving. We humans are imperfect (as nomad often stated) and that is the reality. If you killed someone by choosing to be distracted is that person any less dead than if you drank and reaction time was hampered? Was your choice to do it any less deliberate?

DUI is a serious matter but there is a reason that there is a legal distinction between DUI and Vehicular Manslaughter. And if DUI is unforgivable because it theoretically endangered a life then maybe we should fence off Manhattan (and Florida and California) as one big prison to throw everyone in there who has theoretically endangered a life for any reason ? That suggestion is silly, yes, yet just as silly as the idea that a theoretical crime makes one irredeemable.

Like this move.
I was wondering how Pats dont have depth at WR so adding Griff whalen was the right move. Depth. So obviously you have a first round available and they swap Whalen with Floyd. Malcolm, Hogan, Edelman aer fine but incase someone is hurt, Floyd is good insurance.

lol @ STLBONGHITTER coming here to tell us all "tisk tisk naughty naughty"

That isn't why he came here. He came because he's embarrassed. Who can blame him really? he's a Rams fan.

I know. I wish he would had been driving 100 mph with a kid in the back of his car while smoking a fat ole duby.

I'm amazed it took 300+ posts before this came up. I was waiting.

Not to pick nits, but I believe it was 140 MPH.

Bill Polian- The Self-Declared Steward of Colts Nation's Moral Fabric.

Give me a goddamn break.

I can't stand this d**khead

I was going to rate this "Funny" but the last line turns it into a "Winnah"!

I predicted Floyd before the Draft just saying

Further proof that Myra Kraft took this organization's moral compass with her when she died. What's worse, is that the majority of the people here have absolutely no issue with it. When exactly did we turn into Baltimore/Pittsburgh fans?

The kid is obviously a moron. Many WRs smarter than him have come here and failed to grasp this needlessly complex offensive and gel with a crotchety old QB who insists on jamming the ball into one or two guys, regardless of how many defenders are on them while ignoring the new guy(s) no matter how open they are. But this guy is going become a significant contributor to this offense in three games? We sold our integrity for Chad Johnson 2.0 and a relatively useless compensatory pick. Disgusting. This team gets more unlikeable by the day.

Hopefully the next time this scumbag gets drunk and goes for a drive it's not your loved one he cripples or kills. At least now it's possibility due to proximity and you people are happy about it. Uneal.

I agree, can't wait for them to bring back the death penalty for DUIs or even better Prohibition.

Belichick is salty AF this morning.

Reporter- "Could Weis play a role in helping Floyd pick up offense?"

BB - “I don’t know. He’s been here a couple of hours,” Belichick said. “We’ll see. Look, this isn’t the first time a player has ever come to a team during the season. So we’re not talking about a historical event here. So, whether it was Alan Branch two years ago, whether it was Kyle Van Noy this year, whether it was Jonathan Casillas or Griff Whalen a week ago, it’s the same thing we’ve talked about with every one of those guys. We’ll see how it goes.”

Hahahaha

Maybe but it starts with Chad O'Shea's eval of how far Floyd has to go.

Sorry man. I quoted that improperly. I copied that out of the article Kontra linked. It was a reporter's question.

That quote is great. Absolutely loaded with salt.

Regardless its a reasonable question. O'Shea will get him on a path to learning the playbook, he'll work with Tom and JMD on the timing and line calls, sight adjustments, routes he likes, etc and based on their assessment of where he is they'll either activate him and put him in a few packages or keep him out. If they think Charlie can help with some ND to NEP translations that help accelerate the learning curve they'll ask Charlie if he has a few minutes to help the kid in which he will most likely say yes.
