No-one that the Patriots claim on waivers is likely to make the roster.

Mills is just another warm body for the pre-season games - we;ve had a couple of injuries on ST's.

Its as simple as that, I think.

There isn't a back up to Hernandez on most teams rosters.

I'd imagine Yeatman and Smith to have a strong competitive advantage over Mills when it comes to making the roster.

I'm guessing you don't remember Mills, youngster. He's a 6'1" 235 H-back type, a bankrupt man's Aaron Hernandez. No substitute whatsoever for a mammoth blocker like Yeatman.

The news gave me a giggle too. It's hard to picture him making the roster -- in 5 years in the league, he only has 9 catches. But preparing a shadow roster backup for Hernandez could be worthwhile.

How does a player get stolen from you after you waive him?
Why do you insist on thinking that adding a player to the 90 man roster is sending a signal to players on or competing for the 53?
If one of our top 2 TEs were injured we are left with guys who are about as much a receiving threat as Solder. Don't you think many of the 'other 37' players in camp who are not going to make the roster are actually fighting to be the extra who makes it if there happens to be an injury? Thats what Mills is.

Ok,I'll bite......Yeatman and Smith are blocking Te's.....Garrett Mills' next block as a tight end,will be his first.....that kinda puts Mills behind some other guys,like Gronk,Hernandez and 3 other possible H-backs that the pats have on their ridiculously-loaded roster.

This is more of a:Belichick's daughter saying:"Daddy,I think Garrett Mills is kinda cute,do you think we could bring him back?"-kind of move.:singing:

Clearly this is a sign Ochocinco's getting cut, we're trading Welker, Price is going to IR, Branch has nothing left, Edelman and Tate are being put on the practice squad and Farnham has completed the conversion to DB (which also means Meriweather's done here). Did I miss anything? Besides, if we carry 5 TEs instead of 4 TEs and 6 WRs, that frees up a bunch of roster spots so we can carry 21 DL...

not all waived players are useless scrubs. Larsen and Mack-z just to name 2 of ours are and have been playing well @ TB.

ironic coming from a guy with a signature 15 lines long. I mostly browse here on a iPhone, and it takes more precious screen space than most posts. Since we're on topic, could you please consider shortening it? Thanks.

BTW, there are addons for browsers, like "adblock" (I think that's the one that does it, but not 100% sure), that allow you to block specific images and prevent them from ever being displayed again. That's what I did with chuck Norris on my computer at work.
