Pats causing controversy in Eagle's territory...

Well for the Jets it wouldn't be the first time. Remember they passed on Dan Marino in favor of a tight end. :singing:

Actually, I think they drafted Ken O'Brien (Tony Eason's good buddy) instead of Marino. See 1983 1st round below...never seen so many Hall of Fame potential QBs drafted within hours of one another...
1 Baltimore John Elway QB Stanford
2 L.A. Rams Eric ****erson RB Southern Methodist
3 Seattle Curt Warner RB Penn State
4 Denver Chris Hinton T Northwestern
5 San Diego Billy Ray Smith OLB Arkansas
6 Chicago Jimbo Covert T Pittsburgh
7 Kansas City Todd Blackledge QB Penn State
8 Philadelphia Michael Haddix RB Mississippi State
9 Houston Bruce Matthews G Southern California
10 N.Y. Giants Terry Kinard S Clemson
11 Green Bay Tim Lewis DB Pittsburgh
12 Buffalo Tony Hunter TE Notre Dame
13 Detroit James Jones RB Florida
14 Buffalo Jim Kelly QB Miami
15 New England Tony Eason QB Illinois
16 Atlanta Mike Pitts DE Alabama
17 St. Louis Leonard Smith S McNeese State
18 Chicago Willie Gault WR Tennessee
19 Minnesota Joey Browner S Southern California
20 San Diego Gary Anderson RB Arkansas
21 Pittsburgh Gabriel Rivera NT Texas Tech
22 San Diego Gill Byrd CB San Jose State
23 Dallas Jim Jeffcoat DE Arizona State
24 N.Y. Jets Ken O'Brien QB Cal-Davis
25 Cincinnati Dave Rimington C Nebraska
26 L.A. Raiders Don Mosebar C Southern California
27 Miami Dan Marino QB Pittsburgh
28 Washington Darrell Green CB Texas A&M-Kingsville

Makes you wonder what would happened had the Pats rated Kelly higher than Eason and traded up two spots to get him.............but that was the Pats of old....

Then Kelly would have gone to Miami, broken the 15 game Orange Bowl winning streak, and taken the patriots to the Super Bowl. And Kelly would have had to face the best defense of all time with a poor OL, with the blocking TE injured in the first series. And Jim Kelly's career would have been ended in shame as the patriots got killed by the bears, and his team threw him to the wolves and called him names because they couldn't face defeat and were pi$$ed because the beloved Grogan wasn't killed by the bears instead of Eason.

We all passed on Marino because he was injured. BTW, KC got Blackledge.

Has any other QB ever gone to the SB four years in a row. I think Kelly has been underrated.

I agree but I think Kelly would have held up better in SB XX. IIRC Mike Singletary made the comment that they saw fear in Eason's eyes before the first snap and knew it over right then and there. But for a shanked kick vs the Giants ( after a decent 2 minute drive) Kelly would have had his ring. I think Kelly would have made it a game (SB XX)instead of a rout.......

I recall Singletary's comment. I agree about the fear in Eason's eyes, but I didn't see the fear until Lin Dawson went down in the first series. I agree that kelly was a much better QB, but I'm not sure he would have done as well for the patriots.
