Like your thinking Cousin, add hicks and flowers as well
Would welcome both options.
Good morning all and a good day. Good Saturday morning breakfast of two strips of bacon and a couple of over easy/medium fired eggs. Of course had to share the bacon with my two dogs and cat.... so.let's call it one piece. Coffee (coconut and mocha), orange juice and a delicious chocolate croissant. I had a small plate of berries to top it off.
I am gonna spit ball some with some trades and F/A picks you can ponder on.
First some trades I would like to see:
NUMBER #1-WR Laviska Shenault from the Jags is available. He might be the Deebo Samuel here. Runs wildcat. He played about 1/3rd of his snaps in the slot. He has size at 6'1" 227lbs. Mid 4.5's speed for a big kid. CHEAP! 1.8MM. No excuses Bill.
" 63 receptions for 619 yards but averaged less than 10 yards per reception and had no touchdowns. Nevertheless, Shenault is a talented player whose production in 2021 might have been affected by the dysfunction Urban Meyer created. Viska is pretty good at creating yards after contact and can also get deep".
Strengths
- Played all three wide receiver spots at Colorado
- Mixes speed with squat-rack strength after the catch
- Superb combination of size, strength and speed
- Forward lean and early burst into routes
- Eats into cushions faster than cornerbacks expect
- Sudden hands to stab high fastballs on first two levels
- Silky smooth deep-ball tracker with second gear to run under it
- Graceful body adjustments in mid-air for 50/50 balls
- Excellent quickness to gather and squared to QB
- Carves out last-second catch space with instincts and positioning of a rebounder
- Big frame and elite hand strength are made for combat catches
- Effective direct-snap option with power of a big running back
- Versatility could force defenses to spend additional practice time on him
NUMBER #2-CB James Bradberry from the Giants is available. You would have to adjust his contract for sure. A top ten CB rated by some. The Giants are desperate for CAP. Send the 5th embarrassment you got for Mason. It will stop the torches and pitchforks.
Number#3-Andy Issabella from the Cards for Harry. Why not? Both need a change of scenery. Issabella saves us a little $.
Now Bill at least one player in FA who can make an impact. We know we have $ issues.
Sign LB Bobby Wagner Nuff said. This would be the only "Big" signing.
Put him next to Bentley and you might be O.K.
Sign DT Larry Ogunjobi. This is a typical BB sneaky sign. Had a $40mm deal nixed by the Bears because of a foot possibility. Only 27. 6'3" 305lbs and 4.97 40 speed! This so called injury might be to the advantage of the Pats "He had a career year for the Bengals last season, starting 16 games and finishing with seven sacks and 49 tackles. He has played in 76 of a possible 81 regular-season games over his five-year career".
Back load a similar deal but save on CAP by incentive laden year one. Might have been the Bengals best D Lineman.
Re-sign OT Trent Brown (back up plan RT Daryl Williams who only gave up 4 sacks for Josh and the Bills in 2020).
Sign Trey Flowers and DE Akiem Hicks
Another off the wall signing would be J.C. Tretter who was solid at C last year for the Browns. He could play Guard. He was cut for CAP. He would start at RG perhaps and take the Karras role of back-up center. A upgrade over Karras. Very good in pass protection.
My last move those will hate. In case we can't pry Bradberry, Patrick Peterson CB who is younger than McCourty. Played at a high level for the Vikings and is the Rodney Harrison on field presence BB admires. Can still handle a punt or two. Says he is not looking for big$. Wants security. 3 years back loaded? Then Draft a CB whom he can teach.
O.K, Then the FA wasn't a complete disaster.
