Click on the dot for patsfans.com then instead of hitting the vote button, hit your enter key very fast, over and over, and hyold down the back arrow button at the same time.... you can get hundreds, if not thousands, at one time...

I am guessing that this is what they are doing to pick up 3,000 votes so fast they dont even have that number of members.....

In the last 15 minbutes they put up another 1000 votes. This is getting out of hand. They are using an electronic clicker...I am reporting this to SI...

We may be doing multiple votes, but we are doing it manually..they, obviously , are using an electronic clicker..... thats bullsh!t.

I think this needs to be voided and Si needs to start over again, with ONE vote per ISP.

They should be able to do that post facto, if they have logged the votes and ISPs. I seriously doubt they will start over again.

Getting a Bot to do it for you is cheating - and I think the person doing this for Patriots Planet should be ashamed

One vote per ISP would be the fairest thing - but even then I think there's a way to mask or generate random ISP numbers and still use a bot

SI will likely say this is an unscientific poll that means nothing, and the cheaters at Patriots Planet will have their crown

Well, you can cheat yourself, by clicking on the vote button over and over as fast as you can and simultaneously hitting backspace over and over as fast as you can. It's not a bots speed, but I've voted probably 150 times in 4 minutes.

If you go back to their thread, you will see where somoeone actually says he has a BOT... I didnt even know what a BOT was till he mentoned it.

we are not angels, we cast multiple votes, as I have done in many days, but it is alldone manually, with the finger doing the voting..to put this up with a BOT, or whatever it is called, is pure bullsh!t.

I am going to have them disqualified, if i can.

Just fyi BOT is short for robot. Go get em NEMbo, give em hell. Thanks for tackling this for us. As you say Ian deserves it.

And besides, what's right is right. I've been to PatriotsPlanet and the place is dead half the time. We have a lot more interesting discussions and a lot more good posters here.

Short for RoBOT - often used in a number of industries for things like reviewing resumes (note to all job seekers applying and submitting resumes online - Bots are usually reviewing your application first - having all the key words associated with a job posting is a good way to make it past the robots to an actual person - heck - cutting and pasting the job listing itself is really the way to go)

In this case they've got a bot spending every second and every hour generating votes for PatriotsPlanet - and they will proudly claim victory

No one is stepping up to the plate to tell them to stop there - NEM even called them on it - if they win this thanks to the Bot it should be a shameful victory.

Don;t have a bot and wouldn't program one if I could, but holding the backpage button doesn't work

alternating quickly between backpage and enter does work - for me anyway

you have to hit backspace,enter,backspace,enter..... It works. For those that don't know backspace serves the same role as the backbutton in IE so even if the page you are on doesn't show the toolbars you can still use backspace to go back a page, F5 for refresh etc..

If a few of us use my method it may work to keep up, but it's not like we can do it 24 hours a day until thursday. Looks like the battle may be lost.

You'd think that rather than create an online poll, which we all know can be so outrageously unscientific as to be useless, some staffer would actually take the time to GO LOOK AT EACH SITE?!? They would see clearly which is the better site if they did.

And is this how they make their start of season prognostications, by online poll? No wonder why they say Miami goes to the Super Bowl.

it doesnt update right away, just keep hitting backspace and vote (either enter on IE, or clicking on the vote button. over and over and over. and the votes will register when it updates.

It doesn't instantly update

Be prepared - no matter how many of us do what a Bot does manually, unless we have a Bot we can't fight fire with fire

The next update probably won't be all that pretty - and overnight we're going to lose ground

Just know that Patriots Planet will have a crown of shame - they, and we will know that they are not the best Pats fans website - and until the bot took over 70% of Patriots fans weighed in for Patsfans.com

But it will also be common knowledge that they are cheaters - and that nearly all the members of Patriots planet declined to speak out in an attempt to stop it

On IE apparently all you have to do is click the Patsfans.com bullet, vote once and then hit backspace/enter over and over.

I'm on firefox, enter isn't working for me. So I'm hitting backspace and clicking vote over and over. That's working too.

Keep voting, i have to go out, but even with our manual multiple clicks, we cant match their BOT...they have added 5,000 votes in 2 hours. thats bullsh!t...i wont let it stand, i will do whatever it takes to get them disqualified....

Whatever it takes? Well, I suggest posting naked pictures of yourself on every thread at SI's message boards. That should do the trick.
