If Belichick were as certain Stidham is not an NFL caliber QB as some posters here, he wouldn’t be wasting a roster spot on him.

so we have to decide, are those posters more knowledgeable than Belichick about Stidham‘s potential? After all, it’s unlikely Belichick has seen as much of Stidham as they have...
If Belichick thought Stidham had potential he would have played him last season over a guy who can't throw.

Not one thing I saw from Stid last year makes me think BB was wrong for keeping him on the bench. Hopefully it's permanent or something has gone very wrong at the position.

It's interesting to hear people say that a 4th round draft pick QB is somehow entitled to start an NFL game.

I agree in general with your assessment of Stidham. I don't think he's a long term NFL player. But not playing last year has nothing to do with his potential, IMO. Belichick wants to maintain the culture of meritocracy: Players play when they have shown they've earned the playing time in practice. Not playing Stidham means he wasn't ready last year, and wasn't outworking Cam. It's definitely possible they don't think he has much potential overall either, but it's not guaranteed. It just means they weren't going to play him in games he didn't deserve to play in just to "see what he's got".

I think stidham has a stronger arm than Mac Jones!

So did Jamarcus Russell. I'll take the competive drive, quick processing, and mental toughness of Jones over either of those dudes. Stidham doesn't have what it takes. He never did. Easily my least favorite draft pick of the last several years. Seems like a nice guy, though. Maybe he'll end up in coaching like another former Patriots QB bust in Kingsbury. Regardless, I don't want him on the roster.

so you would go with a rookie qb as Newton’s backup or are we going to resign hoyer?

When I first read about this camp it was reported that Cam was going to attend. I didn't see him there.
Cam will be attending the throw the ball in the dirt, overthrow the receiver, take unnecessary sacks

If Keene will be attending in order to fumble the ball after catching it. Pure fire hydrant.

If Cam is there it has to be as a backup....feel bad for him but no one right now in league wants him as a starter....last year some of worst stats ever by any QB in NFL...

Stidham has the physical tools, but it is difficult tell how badly he wants to be the guy. Like to see him get mad when he throws an interception and be engaged in OC / starting QB communication while he is on the sidelines.

I'm trying to prepare myself for the possibility that Bill is going to go with Cam for the future. I've been unsuccessful so far.

Man, great video. Shout out to Stidam for assembling some players and putting some work in. Love the following of the players as they run the routes, love that perspective. Neat! You guys are blessed to be NFL caliber players. I wish i had the genetics to play pro but it is what it is. Please Please Please make more videos! Feels like i'm running with ya'll!

There's a scene in "Enter the Dragon" where Bruce Lee famously says: "Boards don't hit back."

It's easy to be the guy, to be the competitor when nothing pushes back at you or you don't have much obstacle. But in the face of real adversity, players react differently, and this of course is what separates the great from the average. Stidham so far has demonstrates that he folds like a house of cards in the face of NFL level competition. As far as I can tell, this didn't happen in college. Just goes to show you how much of a crapshoot drafting a QB is.

B.T.W. Invite PFW to your practices.

That way we can criticize you and N'keal, say you both suck and Bill was an idiot to ever choose you to your faces! Maybe bring your dog so we can kick it too. Probably you have an ugly girlfriend too!

At least at that point we will all be able to watch Stidham's eyes and be able to really tell that he isn't looking off opponents and that his body fakes aren't all that great, of course some here can do that by watching 15 seconds of youtube clips.
