People keep saying that 5'10 is an undersized CB, but they ignore the fact that some of the best corners in the history of the game have been 5'10. And that includes Ty Law.
Lots of good thoughts, although I still believe that the decision to forego drafting an OT will continue to be a controversial topic from now through the end of the year.
I think this means that we'll see the one or two OT's that were drafted that succeed were preferable to our worst performing draft choice, or one that we surely could have picked up 2 rounds later.
I'm not sure that hindsight will help all that much.
Belichick preferred using draft capital elsewhere. He made a several value decisions with regard to the OT's available, other needs and with regard to Cannon and Waddle.
It is instructive to think that Thuney may have been the best OT on the patriot board, and Belichick drafted him to play guard.

BOTTOM LINE
I think that Belichick had a much different perspective. Posters didn't see the needs at corner and quarterback. We thought that the media was crazy to think that corner was a high need (after all we had Butler and Ryan signed for 2016 and the mighty Coleman and Roberts for 2017). Also, when Reiss predicted QB more than once, we simply were in denial.
