Joint practice today with the Raiders. Should be in pads. Looking forward to seeing Lil Jordan practicing with the first and second units, also curious to see how our O-line is configured. The Raiders don't have a great defense, but do have two excellent edge guys who can get after the qb.

Also, we have two roster moves that need to be made today by 4:00pm. As always, we have you covered here!!!

Some practice information from yesterday: Agholor continues to have a great camp and Lil Jordan having reps with Mac-moving up the depth chart. For all those doing their 53 man projections, I might think hard about including him.

Interesting note about Herron

Good article on Lil Jordan-who's becoming everyone's binky:

Did we determine yesterday if the times they're reporting for practices are West or East coast times?

I think it was EST actually…just nobody reported anything for a while….and when they did …meh.

Having a solid camp. Seeing him show up quite often in the red zone and 50/50 balls. He's been good/dependable so far. He's getting a lot of looks from Mac, see below:

Reception leaders from Mac through T/C: not including yesterday's practice:

Jakobi Meyers 35
Jonnu Smith 23
Nelson Agholor 19
DeVante Parker 19

His Draft profile seems very similar to Jakobi Meyers guys who kinda lack that top end speed but knows how to get open Hmmmm. Seems like he works really well from that Slot might be where to Pats want to maximize his talents. Lil Jordan knows how to use that Big Body over the middle.

Some backup O-lineman love:

No we ain't taking any chances with Russey making our PS we've seen enough. Andrews is getting a little long in the tooth nice heir apparent.

Wouldn't it make more sense to let teams move injured guys to reserve/pup before the 80-man deadline?
Maybe. There’s a school of thought out there that says it’s too hard to organize and run practices and drills with 90 people. The current system is a compromise. 10 years ago, training camps had 80 man rosters but NFI and PUP guys didn’t count against it. When players were activated from the list, someone needed to be cut. It created a little bit of roster management annoyances for coaches and GMs, who had to cut someone consistently during camp, or just be short players a lot (not filling out roster to maximum 80 people). So the 90 man roster was a compromise to solve that problem - 90 players instead of 80 but the NFI and PUP counted. And in some years, the Pats had so many of these guys they effectively had less than 80 healthy guys practicing at various points in camp.

Anyhow, the argument is: if you let these guys be moved to the reserve PUP or NFI list earlier, they shouldn’t be able to replace them because the ultimate target training camp roster count is 80, that it was expanded to 90 explicitly to handle these people. Not saying I buy it, but that’s the argument - and it gets paired up with the whole “90 people is too many to organize and run practices with” argument.
