the arbitrary notion that Mac will start week 5 is based on the fact that BB would never have him face Brady and, what - be humiliated? What flawed logic. What's worse for the Pats to face Brady with - a useless QB like Cam which will remind us all what we don't have anymore, or a kid who at least shares the type of potential that we can be hopeful about? Neither will play well in that game, and we'll lose either way. So, if he's doing better than Cam after 2 or 3 games leading up to that, why not play him? Do you think getting beat badly by the Texans, Cowboys or Chargers after the Bucs game will be any different for Mac? He doesn't have the history with BB & Tom to really care, neither does half the current team. However, if you think it's best Mac gets his feet under him for a month or two regardless, then that's a legit argument. And, if it causes a groundswell to sit Cam after a drubbing by Tom & Co., then I'm all for it.
