Seems like K Boutte has made an impression since they put the pads on. Boutte might be a risky PS stash at the moment I could see some of our old friends probably poaching him if we go that route ie...McDaniels and Vrabel. That said with anymore improvements I think Boutee have played his way on the Team.
way too early for that kind of assessment for ANY of the "late" (after 4) round picks. Even "Pop" isn't a sure thing (although he's probably the next best thing)

I'll say.. a guy that we definitely need to stash on the practice squad is Cunningham.. boy this guy intrigues me.. a QB with RB and WR skills.

@mike_usagisan @Zuma

You know something.. you'd think we have been playing Allen for 5 seasons.. the Bengals followed the jets blueprint of success to defend Allen. Man up on Diggs and Co.. pressure Allen relentlessly..
It’s very frustrating when we’re playing good D but then on 3rd and 8 Allen runs for a 1st. Really sucks.

It deflates a defense.. I don't want to hear anything about how tough a mobile QB is this season.. we've had one in our division for years.. we have Cunningham on this team to use as a scout team guy. No excuses this season. Man up and go after Allen.

There are many extremely positive stories with rookies at camp, but the offensive line draft choices have looked like busts, with the possible exception of Mafi.

One could have read the tea leaves when Sow was playing behind jags during early camp, but now I'm hearing he's too slow to be a tackle. Might be time to cut losses and see if he's a guard because Jake Andrews is not looking like a beast either from what I've read.

The names Ferentz, Russey, Murray shouldn't excite anyone. Maybe Hines and Mafi develop, but the backups at both guard and tackle are suspect.

What I heard was that he looks like a tackle but needs to learn technique. That’s not a thing he’s going to learn in a few weeks.

Or Offense with those Brick layers one being the Highest paid player in the league absurd.

That ****ing contract is a ****ing disgrace to the entire human ****ing race.

Just a few thoughts after reading the thread:

1. It's nice to here nice things about the receivers for a change. BUT unfortunately we are not going to keep 6 guys. Not on a team that is going to feature 2 TE's and a strong running game. Not on a team with an unsettled OL that will likely cause them to keep 9 guys on the roster. AND not on a team that is going to have to a BUNCH of tough cuts along the DL, DB's, groups as it is.

Boutee OR Davis will likely have a late season "badly" sprained ankle and while they may not go on the IR, it will make them less likely to get poached. The only way BOTH those guys make the roster is if Thornton is gone.

2. And speaking of Thornton, who isn't exactly tearing up TC, it was nice to see someone comment that "he looked fast out there". He NEVER "looked" fast to me last season, so any comment that he is at LEAST finally "looking 4.2 fast is a start.

3. Way too early thought to start creating mock 53 man rosters. After the 2 joint practices and a couple of games, we will likely have a mich better feel for who is going to stay.

What I heard was that he looks like a tackle but needs to learn technique. That’s not a thing he’s going to learn in a few weeks.

So without his permission (but he's giving away content for free this week) this is what Greg Bedard said today, "Deatrich Wise made Sidy Sow look like a late-round rookie. Slapped his hand down, and went right around. Made Wise look fast, which he is not."

The "made Wise look fast" is what concerns me. It's not just technique. He's slow. This is not the first time I've heard Sow is too slow for tackle.

BTW for Bedard haters, his view of training camp is often spot on.

I agree it's extremely unlikely they keep 6 WR at cutdowns. Obviously if anyone of the group gets injured then the decision is easy. If not, I think the most likely scenario is Bourne gets cut/traded. TT is not getting cut unless he forgets how to run faster than everyone else which so far is the one thing he can do. Boutte and Douglas are both playmakers, and if they keep showing out then they certainly have greater upside than Bourne. As much as I love Bourne's attitude and game, he's expendable if the above scenario plays out. I also think it saves the team cap $$ but I could be wrong.

It’s entirely possible, but I wouldn’t end the experiment for one report. Sow is going to be a project. It’s worth a redshirt season to see if he can be a tackle. If not, we’ll need competition for guard spots next year.
