LOL

Sorry don't mean to come across as an armchair scientist it just sounds insane to me that a guy who's probably been lifting since high school suddenly up and builds 20lbs of pure American muscle in the span of an offseason but it's probably semantics/splitting hairs. Edelman took about 5 or 6 years to go from sk8erboi to jacked if I remember correctly

Gonzalez is a very touchy guy! Hands all over receivers! Could be a lot of pass interference penalties in his future
They seem to let a lot of that go nowadays though. It’s kinda like holding by the offensive line. They only really call it 10% of the time, there’s literally holding on EVERY offensive play by the Oline.

I can’t remember how many times I’ve heard the the analysts say, look at that great block, meanwhile the olineman is practically tackling the defensive player.

DBs are very touchy, a lot of hand fighting with WRs, hands on the back, etc. Gonzalez will get called, but probably only 10% of the time, maybe less. He has really good technique, is very smooth in his movements. Plus the Pats are GREAT at coaching up DBs, look how far guys like Malcolm Butler and JC Jackson went, from UDFA’s to Pro Bowlers. Gonzalez is more talented than both.

I read the same after the draft. It’s a very fine line between touchy and grabby.
All the great ones are both of those things.
He’s a rookie so he’ll get his fair share of flags I’m sure. Refs love rookies.

I’d rather have the skilled aggressive cb mixing it up fighting to make the play any day.

In one offseason, 20 lbs of muscle for an experienced lifter is just impossible unless you're talking about another 20 lbs of fat and using drugs. A new lifter maybe, but a professional athlete? Just not happening. I can see if he gained 20lbs of weight over 8 months and maybe 5-10 lbs of that is muscle (which is a ton of muscle on its own accord for such a timeframe)
This is simply untrue. He was at a weight for his height where serious muscle gain for an athlete could follow. He was at an age where it's possible to have the largest possible muscle gain. He has access to the finest trainers and nutritionists that money can buy. As the Captain mentioned he was at 179 the last week of February. Getting to 195 by the end of July is possible through a legal but strenuous process overseen by professional nutritionists and trainers especially if he is one of the folks where muscle gain comes easily.

Also, please note that the typical human can have a 5 pound swing in weight during a day, and it could be as much as 20 pounds.

If an experienced lifter gained 20 lbs of lean muscle mass in a 6 to 8 month offseason I would be extremely surprised is all I'm saying.

We could debate or pontificate if we had actual specifics about calorie intake, BMR, weights and dates, lifting history etc but we'll just have to accept that we don't know for sure lol

the more we see Jack Jones working with the first team, the more confident I become that his Logan faux pas ISN'T going to require jail time. Probably a suspension (2-4 games), but not jail time. I don't think the Pats would waste first team snaps on him if they thought he'll spend the season in jail or get a long suspension from Goodell
I think they're confident about his availability this season cause his trial likely won't be till after it, but nobody knows about next season.

Douglas has just “wowed” everyone so far this preseason. I know it’s early and people will say “pump the breaks” but can’t help getting the vibe of a late round steal from the kid. Talking about “making the most with the reps given?” He’s a prime of example of that term right now.
Hope he becomes what everyone thought Elijah and Rondale Moore would become when a lot is us wanted the Pats to draft one of them.

no I don’t know that feeling. Must be growing the wrong strain. Please tell me, what strain attracts the ladies?

I prefer Indica, to help you get them in da couch...

There will likely be the obligatory bias against rookies to work through as mentioned earlier. He will likely adjust accordingly given he seems quick to make changes based on his career.
