IF Lowe is in competition we're in trouble at Tackle.
Yeah.. because no player EVER gets better .

That being said Lowe has played LT almost exclusively prior to joining the Pats last year.

With as bad as our OL has been the last two seasons how can we take anything from this? I want to be positive and say it's all the defense but ugh...damn you historical empirical data!

One way offensive linemen slow down defensive fronts is to HIT them. With minimal contact allowed, offensive linemen are at a little bit of a disadvantage here. Let’s see what happens when the pads come on next week. If the offensive line still resembles 5 turnstiles, then we can panic.

I've noticed you're a bit negative and you say "we're in trouble" a lot on here:

Be patient and let the process play out.

Oh no we're indeed in trouble, if you're hoping for things like, you know, wins & stuff...

...I'm scared to even say it again - but TT getting a lot of play early. And Reagor too.

Is it a bad thing if our 2nd round, highly touted, WR draft pick finally figures it out? Wouldn't we want that over an aged, injured, slowed JuJu? I would.

By whom?

Yup, OL is the weak link - no surprise.
But, they are playing mix & match as usual early in camp. (at least, as usual for the last 5+ years on the Pats)
I really hope they pick a best-5 in the next week or 2, and stick with it for preseason.
The problem with BB's philosophy is he kept juggling OL combos into October.
These guys need to start feeling confident enough in a position to then build chemistry.
I'm fine with Okra at LT, if they lock into him there and give it 6 weeks to build.
Everyone else will work themselves into shape.
My guess is they already have 4. The RT is an open competition in camp is my guess.

Okorafor is a lock at LT to start the season.

My guess is the line will be :

Okorafor - Sow - Andrews - Onwenu - RT

My hope is that Wallace is the week 1 starter at RT with Anderson as the swing tackle.

Add to that that the defense has no threat of the running game before the pads come on. They know what to expect.

In this setup, the line is really at a disadvantage from the get go.

Its interesting that Onwenu seems to be locked in at RG. He may have to stay there if they are committed to the outside zone scheme.

I'd like to see Robinson in the mix, but looks like he may only see the field as a back up to Sow/Onwenu.

We know the defense was very good last year, the offense dead last and there's en entirely new offense this year with almost the same exact defense... we can assume with some surety we still have a great defense and an offense that is just starting to form in the womb.
New system, new coaches, new QB and players... the offense will take some time to catch up to the offense... if it ever does.
